I hate catch phrases, it's like reality TV for even dumber people.

Everyone is using the "buzz phrase", the new normal. Every time I see it, I want to punch a cute puppy(and I love dogs). It's just so moronic, so manipulated and is literally the epitome of group think.

Short rant, but sweet....IMO

Valid point, why punch a puppy when you can punch the sheep that bleats it out....

Anyone that uses "hashtag" before another word or phrase should be eradicated.

Just me?

Who are you telling. Its literally only being said in these commercials. I have not encountered a single iindividual who has repeated it though.

I see it all over the national news and local news and yes, I have heard a few people in person utter the phrase.

It's dangerous, even if they don't realize it. But I'm usually ahead of the curve, it will be the buzz phrase going forward as everything opens up and you will see more people "embracing" the idea.

I don't know which catch phrases are pissing you off but certain "buzz words" drive me up the wall.

The latest being "efficacy". I mean before this pandemic, when did anyone use the word efficacy?

Now people are using it for all manner of subjects and yes, it makes me want to punch them.

It's the "New Normal" to use words like "Social Distancing" and "Flatten the Curve".

I'd be pleased if I never again heard the phrase "an abundance of caution".

And, though it's just a standalone, "robust" is popular lately. At least in my matrix.

If I had a dollar for every time I've seen one of you MAGA guys say "the new normal" talking about lefties committing acts of violence...

I agree. Fight back. Counter it with a pithy come-back.

"It's the new normal."
"Well it WILL be with that attitude."

"It's the new normal."
"There's nothing normal about it!"

"It's the new normal."
"What a menacing incantation!" *do the hex sign with your fingers*

"It's the new normal."
"Want fries with that kool-aide?"

Your turn, ATS... let's arm this frustrated ATS member with a plethora of pithy come-backs!

I wonder how close to the epitome of group think, complaining on a forum about group think, really is.

You're named after a character from a show with catch-phrases, written by a guy who created another show with even more catch-phrases. o_O

I used the term "efficacy" constantly. Its one of my favorite words, actually.

Used the use the term "problematic" all the time too.

As for "the new normal," Id be more concerned about what is meant by that phrase than the words themselves.

Its programming, and whether you are "for" or "against" it.. Here we are talking about it.

Me and my girl were just talking about the media and such spouting that phrase "the new normal"......... I can't F'n stand it. They captivate those who can't think for themselves with buzzwords or catchphrases like that, then those people will parrot it to everyone they know.

"The new normal" as they say, is more fake news and disinformation to frighten the masses and make them more compliant
