Phil May, lead vocalist of The Pretty Things has passed away age 75.

The Pretty Things where one of the pioneers of early 60's British music scene. Fellow band member Dick Taylor was the original bassist with The Rolling Stones before Bill Wyman.

The Pretty Things where one of the major influences for David Bowie and Jimi Hendrix to name but two. It's rumoured that Bowie's " Oh You Pretty Things " from his album " Hunky Dory " was dedicated to th band.

Their last album was recorded in 2015.

Pink Floyd's David Gilmour and Van Morrison where good mates with the band and often appeared as guests artists as their concerts.

Their 1968 album " S.F. Sorrow " was the first Rock Opera preceding The Who's 1969 " Tommy "
