California Democrat reacts to Tesla lawsuit: ‘F--- Elon Musk’

The news that Tesla is threatening to relocate from California was posted in the Other Current Events forum. This thread focuses on the political and social media aspect of it.

With that said, what are your thoughts on Assemblywoman Lorena Sanchez dropping the f-bomb and Rep. Dan Crenshaw plugging conservative values in reaction to the news?

A California Democrat seemed less than upset Saturday night at the news that entrepreneur Elon Musk planned to pull much of his company Tesla – along with an unspecified number of jobs -- out of the state over coronavirus shutdown rules that have stalled the automaker's operations.

Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez of San Diego appeared to be saying something along the lines of “Good riddance” – except she didn’t exactly use those words.

“F--- Elon Musk,” was Gonzalez’s brief response on Twitter.

Her message contrasted sharply with those from lawmakers and candidates in Texas and Nevada, where Musk said his company plans to relocate. They seemed pleased with the news that jobs would be coming to their states instead of leaving.

“Texas gets better every day,” U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, wrote on Twitter, retweeting Musk’s announcement of Tesla’s planned California pullout. “Good conservative principles make good governance, and attract the best and the brightest. The future is happening in Texas.”

In Nevada, Dan Rodimer – a retired professional wrestler running for Congress as a Republican – also welcomed the Tesla news.

“Nevada NEEDS these jobs most of all right now, @elonmusk,” Rodimer wrote. “We would love to have you and Tesla HQ right here in the Battleborn State!”

Earlier Saturday, Musk wrote on Twitter that he planned to move Tesla’s headquarters and “future programs” to Texas and Nevada – adding that the company’s current facility in Fremont, Calif., in the San Francisco Bay area would remain open for some activity “dependent on how Tesla is treated in the future.”

Musk noted for his nearly 34 million Twitter followers that Tesla was “the last carmaker left in CA.” He referred to Tesla’s dispute with Alameda County, where Fremont is located, as “the final straw.”

Politicians tweeting their thoughts and feelings has been a new freedom of speech social experiment for us this decade and it's been very interesting and entertaining to say the least. Should she be able to get away with it not affecting her political career despite dropping the f-bomb? If the President had posted masked profanity, it would be entirely new territory with the outcome being as uncertain as the name of the first member who replies to this thread.

Being a Dem, an Assemblywoman, a minority, and a female, do you think it'll be received and treated differenty for all of the reasons I listed? If not all, which do you think doesn't factor into it? Which factor into it the most? If you listed the reasons why in order of precedent, how would you arrange them?

Do you think that Rep. Dan Crenshaw knew of Assemblywoman Lorena Sanchez' tweet before making his own? Did he drop the "good, conservative values" line after being influenced by it or does he typically cheerlead on twitter?

Aren't they the ones begging the federal government for a handout, no demanding a bailout because they are losing massive revenue - from decisions like the one they made that drove Musk and his employees, and taxes out of California?

Political: You made your bed, now lie in it.
Time California said F to the US and went their own way,
ideologically they are no longer a fit with the US.
California openly disdains the rest of the US
and refers to it as "flyover" country, full of hicks and deplorables.
Time the US said F to California why give handouts
to those who hate/despise you so openly and at the same time claim
they are the ones funding the rest of the nation,
while demanding handouts from it

Social: California has the social graces of Betty Davis
and Joan Crawford when they were aging "has beens" who lost their looks,
arrogant and overly full of themselves.
They think they are smarter than the rest of the US,
they should be the ones to tell the peon/surfs in flyover country how to live
their lives because the little people who watch their Hollywood drivel are ignorant slobs

In theory, Musk and his companys are also being bailed out with green energy grants and subsidies ... but perhaps he's just functioning as an organizational frontman ..

By "they" I meant California is begging for handouts from the Federal Government
while at the same time claiming their economy is supporting the federal government and red states.

He has not only made Tesla the only car company to turn a profit more than any other vehicle manufacturer and paid back all loans.
Has also created the need for many jobs in doing just that here.
He has more than one space launch facility that have also created jobs.
He is also going to put men in space.
I mean I can go on my dude.

To be honest, California was hurting before Musk. California will be hurting a little more after Musk.

But California's loss will be another state's gain. Just so long as AMERICA doesn't lose him.

That's why California, New York and other states who claim they are funding everyone else in the US, are begging for federal handouts now, and keeping their states closed until more than 50% are unemployed and small business dies. www.zerohedge.com... Right now 50% of all adult US citizens are unemployed and CA plans to keep their economy closed for a VERY long time to come.

California definitely has a value system that no longer matches with the constitution. They are anti-liberty, Newsom said he may not allow CA to go back to "normal" until there is a vaccine 2 years+ from now. The majority of Californians are totalitarian, speak or think incorrectly and you are fired from your job, sent death threats, and socially hounded until you are thoroughly terrorized. They are arrogant and condescending and constantly sending the message that they are smarter and know how other people should live their lives, especially the horrible, ignorant, hicks in flyover country who are too stupid to know better than to eat meat, when cow farts kill - forgetting people fart methane too.

California believes strongly in socialism and is falling into anti-liberty totalitarian rule by a dictator in the form of Newsom, and they think it is the way things ought to be.

I have close relatives in California and visit there often. The state government, elected mostly by the coastal elite who adore socialism/communism because in those forms of government the elite class force the little people to live their lives the way the elite tell them to, while the elite live their lives any way they feel like it. Look at any socialist government in action, and you will see that is the way both fully socialist and communist countries are run.

California has a secessionist movement, we should let them go. Now that they are going to be bankrupt within a short time due to shutting down their economic activity and therefore their source of revenue - let them go. They have become an albatross of arrogant, condescending messages to the American people (Hollywood) that only socialist/communists know what is best for people and must tell others what to think and how to live and what they can and can not say - or else.

Just let them go. F CA. They are big enough to be their own nation. Let CA go.
