Barber Update!!
Judge denies attorney general’s demand to shut down Owosso barber shop

OWOSSO, MI -- A crowd massed outside Karl Manke’s barber shop let out cheers after attorney David A. Kallman delivered some good news for the businessman.

Kallman confirmed Shiawassee County Circuit Court Judge Matthew Stewart had turned down a complaint by the Michigan Attorney General’s Office filed Monday, May 11 to obtain a temporary restraining order against the business.

My oldest nephew got his black market hair trim the other day. He does yard work for a gal who mostly services nursing homes, and she finally said, "Look ... come do some yard work on this day, and I'll sneak you in the back. I won't take too much so no one can tell you've had a full cut, but, boy, you're just too shaggy!"

I'm not sure having the Michigan militia price the Owosso barber is a good thing....

We don't need armed confrontation here..
I'd hate for this to go the wrong way.

Whitmer: GOP lawsuit adds a ‘constitutional crisis’ to coronavirus crisis
No, Gretch! You shutting out the legislature and acting like a tyrant to unilaterally lock down the entire state caused the constitutional crisis.
Please get your facts straight.

The first-term Democrat is asking Court of Claims Judge Cynthia Stephens to reject a lawsuit from the Legislature, which alleges Whitmer violated state law and the Michigan Constitution by issuing new emergency declarations after the GOP majority refused to extend a prior version.

You really have to read this article. The case is before a new judge that was appointed by.....guess who...the governor.
I can see this being appealed all the way up to the state Supreme Court, which I have been told is majority not her party.

I’ve just learned that FB has removed the Michiganders Against Excessive Quarantine group with 380,000 members due to “misinformation”. It’s pretty bad here in MI when the censorship hits these levels.

It will happen eventually and, let's be very honest here, it may be the only way to return a vital missing ingredient from this country's politicians: FEAR. The nation's leadership must return to fearing the American People or this country won't be worth a rat's ass down the road. There are times to sit around and wax poetic, flexing the educated brain, and there are times to roll up the sleeves and throttle anyone who looks at you sideways while the rest of the room looks on in horror and realizes the psychopath is still the most dangerous person in the building. We the People need to show the government we are still the same psychopaths who used to hang corrupt officials in the town square for all to see.

So....is she threatening us????
Whitmer says protests ‘make it likelier’ Michiganders will have to stay home longer

And she says this on another NATIONAL news spotlight.....who the ____ does she think she is? And why does she crave the national spotlight so???

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer says the continuing protests at the state Capitol are making it more likely that Michiganders are going to have stay at home longer.

During an appearance on morning talk show “The View” Wednesday, ....
“I do think the fact of the matter is, these protests in a perverse way make it likelier that we’re going to have to stay in a stay-home posture. The whole point of (the protests) supposedly is that they don’t want to be doing that and that’s why I’m asking that everyone with a platform call on people to do the right thing," Whitmer said.

So, if Trump and Pence don't tell people to stay home, if people legally protest this tyranny...Michigan will be locked down until the cows come home????????
The November elections?

State agency suspends license of Owosso barber who defied coronavirus order closing non-essential businesses

A summary suspension order was issued Wednesday, May 13, by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs against Karl Manke Main St Barber & Beauty Shop.

The summary suspension order comes two days after Shiawassee County Circuit Court Judge Matthew J. Stewart turned down a request by the Michigan Attorney General’s Office, filed on behalf of the state Department of Health and Human Services, for a temporary restraining order to close the business.

You really have to read the Judge's order for not going along withe the state....they looked like keystone cops, IMHO.

Normally I'm far more moderate in my views, but on this occasion I'm leaning partially your way. A non-violent way.

Our power is not in weapons we have, it's in our ability to join together with a single voice that scares the crap out of politicians.

Right now I see Whitmer is still using, the protesters are all from hate groups lie, unchallenged, when it's obvious that nearly all have nothing to do with any hate organization.

I see the protests from inside vehicles as being a very powerful tool. The folks open carrying and the actual hate group members are not a solution to anything, and they should butt out of it all. Imagine taking lessons from the Occupy folks and shutting down the streets by filling them with people safely in their cars, putting no one at risk. There is far more power in that than walking into a statehouse with a weapon. All the people carrying guns do is give the other side more power. It's an irrational approach.

It would be insane to arrest him.
They took his license, he is now out of business.
A high profile arrest like that would turn him into a martyr for freedom.

You mention "Joe the Plumber" and people immediately know who he is and why he's well known.

Karl the Barber is quickly entering that camp where you mention him and people know who he is. That AG and the Governor would be most unwise to pursue him further. He's developing a national following.

Good comparison!!!!
And with his notoriety, I am sure his legal bills will be covered by some who agree with him and can afford to subsidize him.

Rosa Parks just wanted to sit down on a crowded bus.

Karl just wanted to work.

I see Whitmer is laying off 31,000 state employees. LINK

It would appear that Michigan is going broke.

The rest will participate in a federal work share program and get unemployment on top of their check for working fewer hours.

Higher-level managers will not be part of the work share program but will take one layoff day every other pay period — a 5% pay cut.

States who have bankrupted themselves with failed fiscal policies will no doubt get most of the federal money.

Kinda makes me feel good that here we have no state income tax and I think 60 billion sitting in the Permanent Fund.

I'm glad to hear lawsuits are being filed. This needs to play out in the courts for our futures sake, to make sure this emergency stuff does not attach itself like a parasite to our future here.
