They have 2 years, they are registered being restricted, non restricted weapons do not have to be registered.

They dont need to be assault weapons just look the part and they will be labeled assault weapons.

Part of the reason some of us roll our eyes every time someone bleats assault style, or assault type, or really go stupid and call an ar-15 military grade.

The reason being ""Assault Weapons"" are for assault, rather than defense.

You're not even allowed to defend yourself..of course me and many others will not worry about that in the moment.

What is stupid is, any legal owner can only have a 5 round mag to begin with, meanwhile I can buy a shotgun that holds 12..hmm, better check on that now.

Yea, most would turn a blind eye or wouldnt know about guns here or other parts of the globe, but modifications and autos have an been banned already here for time.

Supposedly Chicago has strict gun laws.

As a Canadian (not a gun owner) waking up to hear this I was very surprised and scared. Apparently this was in the works before but I hadn't heard that. I didn't vote liberal or conservative last go and usually don't bother with voting.. but I will be voting conservative from now on. It is bad enough we are pretty much locked in our homes but if the economy (propped up by Chinese money) crashs then obviously crime is going to become a big problem. I may at least get my PAL now just to get a handgun or something before they ban that too. They were being sketchy when someone asked the guy about that this morning.

"%80 of canadians" is trending on Twitter because there was a poll done that showed %80 support this? Of course it is a poll so my immediate thought was... Who even believes those? My second thought was can I see the poll... I googled "%80 of canadians gun poll" and this is the first thing that came up.. I stopped scrolling...

I bought a 12 gauge shotgun that holds 23 shells and there is a longer model that holds 41 shells. I think they are sold out at the moment.
