That made me chuckle, actually right wing is on the way to fascism as happened during the Thatcher years and from then on almost every government
that has held office has found a way to expand the police powers - to keep people from protesting etc.
And that is Fascistic if not actually fascism itself, it is the slow decay of British moral standards into a police state.
Remember when Policeman meant literally what it said on the tin, well no neither you nor I remember when it was a civilian and voluntary group of men
of the city that were founded by Johnathan Peel to replace the heavy handed (lethal and brutal) military unit's that used to be called out whenever
there was a public demonstration.
But that is what they are MEANT to be, not a military as they seem to be acting like more and more answerable only to the government BUT gentle
approach (when that will do) approach to upholding law and order, there job was NEVER intended to be to protect the government they were meant to
serve the law and the people.
There name mean's Man of the City and there only difference between you and me is there warrant card which give's them authority from the crown.
Technically they can still not arrest a Duke - but that technicality has never stopped them from doing so if it was called for OR a Freeman but once
again they do as they please on that one and they are not supposed to be above a court bailiff whom legally and technically has far more powers than
they do YET bailiff's are always having to call the police to do there job's for them - a good thing when you look how crooked some bailiff's are such
as seizing assets that do not belong to the debtor etc from the place were the debtor lives if they can get away with it, often the Bailiff's knew it
was wrong but the police often did not so went along with them but that has been clarified in recent years.
Legally it is like this.
Crown court's.
Crown Court bailiff's (acting on the writ of the court and on behalf of the crown).
Government.
(only for policy and law making that have to be approved by the crown)
County court's.
A freeman can not be held by a county court (actually legal fact though they have long since abused there status - just as a freeman can not be held
on a fine but once again another line that the court system crossed WITHOUT changing the law so technically the court's were in breech of the law
there but what is done is done)
Then the police and then the county court bailiff's.
Note the police are second from the bottom here and there powers are not intended to be those of a militia but as stand in's for crown court
bailiff's.
And actually to my mind it is more like Communism, the Stasi of east Germany had everyone spying on everyone else but mostly neighbors.
The Nazi's had kid's spying and reporting on there own parent's by brainwashing the kid's in the Hitler youth etc.
So mostly the Commies relied on party members and Spy's in community's when they were doing there witch hunt's while the Nazi's relied on brainwashed
miners to do there dirty work for them.
But both relied on fear to control and prevent dissent - not that there was much in Germany though they did kill at least 50.000 German's in Spandau
for being enemy's of the Reich - probably far more than that as well as of course all the German's deemed to be inferior that were given lethal
injection's and German jew's that were murdered.
So I see your point and your ironical sarcasm BUT you are only half right.
But this particular scenario, well in my opinion.
It is VERY Totalitarian.
