Are we no longer allowed to upload images? I tried .png .jpg .jpeg and .gif and nothing works. I wanted to start a fun thread and I'm at a loss. Why is this so incredibly difficult?

I have other images uploaded with the same formats. The site is telling me the new ones with the same formats arent image files... Is it just me?

Check to make sure image size is not greater than 2mb.

Thank you. I did, and they are less than 1mb. I'm at a loss because I've uploaded images before but now I just can't. Any other suggestions are appreciated.

ETA: Most are between 40-550kb.

Try manually adding a .jpg or .png extension to the filename before uploading, if it's not there.

I've had that happen once or twice. It's clearly an image file, but the extension is not *visible.*

Otherwise, I have no idea.

Hmm... I dont have the option of altering the file name. However, it does display the file extension. Some have said "completed" after uploading but they aren't available to post.

I sincerely appreciate your help.

Sounds like the header information in the file isn't correct
If you have a hex editor for instance in .GIF's should begin with GIF87a or GIF89a

JPG/JPEG should look like one of the following

ÿØÿÛ in Hex FF D8 FF DB
ÿØÿà..JFIF.. in Hex FF D8 FF E0 00 10 4A 46 49 46 00 01
ÿØÿî in Hex FF D8 FF EE
ÿØÿá..Exif.. in Hex FF D8 FF E1 ?? ?? 45 78 69 66 00 00

just a thought if you used a hex editor, an easy way to tell if the header at least describes the file type via ISO standard

No, I havent used a hex editor in over a decade. Thanks for your input, though.

I'm just wondering whats happening here. I've never had a problem in the past.

There is a size limit. Can't remember what it was, and I'm not tech savvy. I spend a lot of time editing down images.

I've had to make many adjustments.

Your mood is labeled as throbbing, Gif89 will not allow you to throb more than 100 times per second?

Lol, Taren Quantino. Nice. None of these I've tried are animated, and none are above or relatively close to 1mb. Did you upload these recently? I'm honestly really curious. The few that were "successful" uploads dont show in my account uploads.

Ha, I forgot I did that. My display doesnt show profiles.
I just thought it would be funny to have throbbing member on someone's screen.

That sounds like a file size issue, even though you said they were under 1mb.

Figure it out yet?

Unfortunately no. The filesize is definitely not the problem. I've nixed the thread and given up.

Again, I appreciate your advice and help.

Yes I uploaded the a month ago. I will admit it took more tweaking than usual. Screen caps are tricky, more cutting and cropping.

Edit: ok here's what I can do. If it's a gif, I have to edit the normal 20-30 frames down to 5 giving resolution.
but it's pointless to upload.

Still can do these.

Takes work.
