Own a small business in Illinois ?
Kiss your ass goodbye.

I work for a small business. We are struggling to keep our head above water and thank God we have an owner who is doing his best to keep us working and supplying the community. I hate to say this but I don't think we're going to make it. We are operating on a shoestring budget and sales are not even close to matching payroll, so I honestly don't see how we can keep going.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker said he has ruled out opening up businesses on May 1, strongly hinting that the Illinois stay-at-home order will be extended as he said the state is “weeks away from its peak.”

“In order for us to truly open things back up, we need tracing, testing, a treatment available, and widespread availability of PPE,” he added.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME ? That's 6 months from now if we're lucky. And what will they do ? Oh, beg the Federal Govt for money and raise the living hell outta taxes to pay for all the revenue they've lost.

We are so screwed.

It makes no sense, we can't out wait this, best thing is to isolate those at risk take all precautions and let people that can work from home but let the others work as well taking again precautions. Sooner we get herd immunity the better it will likely come before a vaccine

Sorry to hear that about the business you work for, and for you. I'm self employed and this whole fiasco is putting the hurts to a lot of small businesses in southern Illinois. Pritzker could care less. He may end up being worse than a few other governors we've had. Good luck David, I hope things improve for you folks.

No surprise at all it is a Democratic Party run state. They don't want to open the country until there is a vaccine, which at the earliest will be 2 years from now, and there is a lot of talk there will never be one like there isn't one for the common cold, or for HIV.

Actually there isn't a Democratic politician out there or a major news media outlet who really wants the country to reopen before November 2020. The goal is to destroy the economy so they will win the next election.

Look, I have no problem with face masks and staying 6 feet apart guidelines.

I have no problem with people who are terrified by the media and politicians and so want to shelter in place, lock themselves down until there is a vaccine. More power to them.

I object to what the Governors are doing, taking away the Constitutional right of life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness.

The every extending by 2 weeks, 2 more, 2 more, until there is a vaccine 2 years from now - is sucking the life out of the US population. Being under lockdown is not life, it is meaningless existing, purposeless living, it is constant terror of even the nicest person you know because they may give you a disease that will kill you. It is not my definition of life, it is simply vegetating and breathing.

Heh, are you terrified of all your fellow humans, fine with me - but don't force everyone else to live their lives in a prison of isolation just to make everyone else live in the terror that you are feeling. Let them decide for themselves, return real life to them.

Lockdown is not life it is like being trapped in a brain dead body.

State Governors have absolutely taken away the liberty of the people who live in their states, and it looks like "the people"- no the slaves to government, will be denied liberty for an unknown and extended time frame.

If people want to cower in their homes, and draw their shades and tremble at the very idea if they get closer than 6 feet to someone outside their home or they will die a terrible death. I say no one is stopping them from doing that if they want to.

But taking away other peoples constitutional rights because they are living in fear, is selfish and very Un-American and I think absolutely unconstitutional.

State Governors have taken away the right to the persuit of happiness.

There is no happiness in lockdown, there is only fear, anxiety and terror - terror of your fellow humans and terror of ones government who is oppressing them and jailing them in their own homes.

But this is exactly how mostly Democratic Party Governors are behaving - un-American, and wanting to treat everyone equally - so the person who lives in a normally filthy, garbage strewn, bodily fluid covered city is the standard for how to treat everyone - even the person who lives 2 miles from their nearest neighbor.

Socialism is the key, treat everyone the same, there is no room for individualism or taking individual circumstances into consideration - treat everyone equally badly to be "fair and just to all". That are the basic tenets of how socialism works in real life and the Democratic Governors, especially Whitmer are giving us a hard look at what that means in action.

So for Illinois to stay closed, 2 more weeks, then 2 more weeks, ad infinitum until Nov 2020 is to be expected actually.

Before you yell at me, I'm out to kill everyone with what I am saying. I'm going to stay basically in isolation mode until there is a vaccine, I'll use a mask, I'll socially distance, but it will be my choice. My CHOICE, I resent and am furious at those who think they have the right to force it on me.

I don't want to force this miserable existence on anyone, if it is my choice, that's ok, if it is your choice, that is ok. But don't force this miserable, worthless, soul sucking, meaningless existence on everyone around you - that is totally anti-American and very very selfish.

As for Democratic Party politicians, remember their goal right now is to keep you locked in until November, and to kill the economy, thinking that will win them power to run the entire country - and we'll all be living like the people in Michigan.

Remember, no one is forcing anyone to leave sitting in front of the TV sucking your thumb and rocking in terror, but don't force the rest of the population to join you, because you are afraid of every human being you may encounter.

Oh, get this.....

Went onto town Saturday morning to go to the bank and get gas. Was at the pump and a lady pulled opposite me on the other side of the isle, but at the other end. We were roughly 20 feet apart. As she was getting out of her car and started digging through her purse, I sneezed. Now, it's allergy season and even though everybody sneezes on occasion, she looked at me with that DEATH GLARE got back in her car and left.

At that point, I could only shake my head and think : If you're that paranoid, just stay home.

I didn't vote for the corrupt phat phucker, J.B. Pritzker. But, as soon as my son graduates college in Wisconsin (June 2021), the wife and I are leaving. By then, he will have raised everyone's taxes again, to compensate for the 67% Illinois loss of revenue HE CREATED...and is now whining about. (PRICKster doubled the gas tax, 50% more for vehicle stickers, etc.. last year, due to 142 people A DAY leaving Illinois.)

Sounds like I need to up my fake coughing fits. I would have busted out laughing.

I'm sorry to hear about your business owners..and you as well. I wish we had SOME sort of test that would tell us whose already had this virus so those of us who've had it can go on with our lives. I wish you well.

That's nothing here in Washington State, Inslee want to wait till after his scheduled lift date to have the Health department research the safety of reopening the state. It's gotten so stupid here ... well you read;

From: King5.com

Citing the recent protests and their concerns over Gov. Jay Inslee’s actions related to coronavirus, several Republican lawmakers called for a special virtual session.

“Our constituents are screaming that they want to go back to work. It’s having a devastating effect on the economy. The state budget will have a gigantic hole that’s going to be very difficult to fill next year,” said Sen. Phil Fortunato. “We want to address the budget issues, and we want to address getting back to work and how to do that. From my point of view if the business has a safety protocol in place they run it by the Department of Health they get the nod and they can go back to work.”

Fortunato was joined by Sen. Doug Ericksen, and Reps. Jesse Young and Vicki Kraft.

Fortunato said he has contacted the legislative Republican leadership and Democratic leadership, which is in the majority of both chambers of the legislature, to push for a special session to discuss the governor’s actions and the upcoming budget, which could be devastated by economic impact of the coronavirus.

Young said that while Washington state residents have been following the stay-home orders, many Washington residents are getting increasingly discouraged and people may start to ignore the orders.

“His solutions will not work if people will not work if people choose not to abide by them,” he said.

Fortunato also expressed frustration over what he considered inconsistencies the stay-home orders.

"When you can do construction on low-income housing that the government is sponsoring but you can't build your own house, you can't build commercial projects. That inconsistency makes it seem that there is some political motive behind this," Fortunato said. "There may or may not be, but the economic impact is the same."

So how bad is it when even the State Congressional reps are beginning to side with the protesters? Why do I feel like all eye's should be on Virginia? Illinois, New York, California, Oregon, and others should be watching the response from Virginia to see where this Governor vs the People fight goes.

On a POSITIVE NOTE, we may see governor JB Pritzker behind bars, where he should have been long ago.

The U.S. Department of Justice said today that LEGAL ACTION will be taken against irrational Governors!

Source: www.npr.org...

I'm hoping JB Pritzker tries to call AG Barr's bluff. Barr will harpoon him, LOL.

It's crazy LOL it is so much of a gross overreaction LOL I can't believe some of the normal people don't see this. The numbers don't warrant this they just don't. The paranoia runs deep. Once my building opens back up we will be there, just hoping my accounts can afford to weather the economic impact.

I'm glad you understand that a 0.003% chance of dying from either Covid-19 or the Flu this year is not worth thinking about, let alone closing down businesses for.

2019-2020 Deaths (45,000 Covid-19 + 60,000 Flu / 320,000,000 US Citizens = 0.003% Death Rate combined)

I truly hope Whitmer does the same and is taken to task by Barr. She's going to push as far as she can without causing a violent uprising. My FIL heard last night the Michigan Militia was planning on an armed demonstration in Lansing. I hope that's just a rumor, but there are far more militia members here than most people think.

He's a leftist.

He doesn't want you or your business to suceed.

I thought that'd be obvious by now.

They probably ran studies to determine how long to shut down to get the most businesses to collapse.

Sorry it happened. It's happening in my state with Kate Brown-shirt.

My goodness.
First of all, I'm sorry.

Second, come on. This really can't be ALL DEM Governors losing their minds, can it?
Are there ANY Rep Governors being this insane?

I had really hoped this was maybe just governors in general being complete mororns.
I don't want it to be like MI.

I just worry it probably is.

Many of our accounts are just small businesses one today told us she got her small business loan, all they approved her for was $3000 that doesn't even pay half of her basic operating expenses or her salaries for her two employees and one seamstress. She has been in business for over 30 years and it's going to be ruined by a faux pandemic. How can one less modern and technical civilization weather the storm of a true pandemic all during a world war no less and handle it better than a modern one with a much less severe virus one hundred years later.

Democrats and their governor minions will do their best to make this manufactured crisis last past the November 2020 election.

Do not comply with their requests past May 1, 2020!
