MSNBC Host Suggests Biden Form ‘a shadow government’ To Counter Trump’s COVID Response

MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle suggested earlier this week that former Vice President and likely Democratic nominee in the 2020 race Joe Biden form “a shadow government” to counter President Donald Trump’s daily briefing on the White House’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.

“Do they (the Biden campaign) need to do it in a bigger way? What did you just call it ‘the President’s daily clown show’? That’s his press briefing? Should Joe Biden be counter programming that? Should he be creating his own shadow government, shadow cabinet, shadow SWAT team? And gearing up there at a podium every night saying here’s the crisis we’re in, here’s what we need to do to address this,” Rule said in her interview with former Obama White House Deputy Chief of Staff Jim Messina.

Biden is but a shadow of his former self, so it might just work

Joe Biden is setting up his White House transition team already. But no one knows who they are. Most likely shadows in his own mind.

Wow that's pretty scary how easily these people give up their rights to choose their own government; and instead are encouraging an unelected person start leading the country.

They even call it a "shadow" government; they don't even feel they need to hide what they are advocating for behind a comfortable euphemism.

This is the kinda thing you'd expect in third world countries; not the US.

THIS would be a 'Double Secret' Deep State.

We have just ONE President, like him or hate him. This is a stupid idea. To have Biden do updates on the virus, no. Just dumb. But, you should know, up until Trump, I believe all Presidential Contenders set up a "shadow government", or whatever you want to call it, so that when and if they get elected, they can seamlessly take over the control from the last President. Trump just doesn't operate a few step ahead. He operates in the moment. So when he took over, it didn't quite work out that way.

Are they perhaps intending "shadow government" in the British sense? Here the "shadow cabinet" is a pemanent institution comprising leading members of the main opposition party, spending their time in criticising the work of their official counterparts. He could follow that model if he formed and announced his potential cabinet before the election.

I guess they mean a different shadow government than the shadow government that has been running the world for the last 40+ year?

I’m pretty sure that leftists have no sense of right and wrong.

They don’t see this as abnormal or wrong in any way.

However, if cNn were to TELL them that a ‘shadow government’ was bad, then they’d ALL change their faux opinions without even knowing they’d held one to begin with.

Biden should form a shadow government? He couldn’t form a fricken sentence let alone any organised group.

I have to side with FOX's Juan Williams on this, partly.

Given the current climate, if your going to try and take the government in 7 months, "you better have a plan"

There is an inherent problem with that, however.

Right now every nations political parties need to work together to get through this.

So, if your about to campaign for an election, your going to want to focus on what your opponent is doing and how they can do it better. If you do that, your casting doubt on how the current leader is handling the situation and that's not helping anybody.

If the Democrats cant get on with the Republicans plans for recovery and focus on their opposition to how it is handled as their campaign, they are cause everyone damage.

Having an election at a time like this is bad.

Doesnt the US have a couple months in between elect and sitting? Like DISRAELI mentioned, it's pretty common in the commonwealth. But the transition is practically overnight after election.
