I have recently been hearing about a new defense system that is being installed. It revolves around off shore oil rigs.

Anyone else heard of anything similar?

Interesting in light of the 'sonic Boom' in Florida. When I was reading about sonic booms yesterday the word oil rigs caught my eye.
