I believe it even goes a bit deeper than that.

We have entire platforms dedicated to getting people literally addicted to extreme emotions and reactions. But, its kind of "background noise."

So, we see people saying and speaking something, but their actions are contradictory. Exacerbating this is the notion many have adopted that what we say, and how we say it, is more important than what we actually do.

During all this, Ive seen tons of people perform this process: "I dont want to live in fear! I refuse!" And then just slather their minds and emotions in fear porn as an addict would their drug of choice.

And just like the "normal" pr0n, people really, really dont want to be disturbed while.. uh.. "enjoying" the content.

I don't dispute that. As a minor silver lining, I rather enjoy the prospect of hanging this over their heads for the foreseeable future. If it works out that the Panic Pollys shot themselves in their own feet financially, then doubly so in the schadenfreude manner. The pisser is that they took everyone else around them down with them. "Misery loves company" is supposed to be a proverb, not a way of life.

This is why I am such a big fan of NOT thinking with your feelz. Use your head, not heart. The heart may have good intentions, but that's the same stuff the road to hell is paved with. Be objective, and avoid succumbing to the whims of the feelz when things impact more than just thou, amirite?

I think the reason that we are leading the world in both infections and deaths is because Trump failed to act in a timely fashion.

Dr. Anthony Fauci did it again. The first time Fauci was noted signaling to his allies in media was when he signaled to ABC’s Jonathan Karl after an antagonistic exchange with President Trump at a task force briefing.

4/8/20 briefing, and CNN’s Jim Acosta had a similar antagonistic exchange with President Trump. Once again Dr. Fauci hangs back to give Acosta a similar signal. Subtle like a brick through a window.

It’s weird. Dr. Fauci doesn’t make his little signals to any other media in the briefings other than those who seem to be purposefully antagonistic to the efforts of the administration?

Have to agree that Trump is seriously "science impaired".

However this whole debacle CAN be spun to his advantage, if he has 1/2 a brain cell.
The shut-down of non-essential businesses clearly illustrates just how much of our economy is truly non-essential. Other than providing a job, it's more like a giant shell game.

Trump could come out swinging on pushing our economy back into producing things versus a service/consumer modeled one. Altho he'd have to come at it loud, fast and hard. I would assume by making it more expensive for companies to operate overseas than here to start with.

The Dem's really have no defense for it.

It's been concerning that Fauci has flip-flopped so many times that even I noticed he's shilling for someone. It began with him making faces behind the Prez. That’s accurate. People get told how to think, and if someone sees the same thing differently they’ll get flamed up one side and down the other.

Why?

Trump was right to have resisted locking things down. I was disappointed when he relented, but I understand why.
