Just joking around, my wife and daughter are competitive shooters, they take offense at the idea of me EVER buying them a pink firearm.

Since they outshoot me often enough...they said theyd buy me a pink gun 1st.

Governor Tom Wolf of Pennsylvania has shut down gun stores.

And wine and spirits...

Not that a gun and whisky should go together.
Point being is I hate Tom.

Appears March was a new record for gun purchases with over 2.3 million purchased.

www.wsj.com...

The number of gun background checks hit an all-time high in March as panicked Americans rushed to buy firearms during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation performed an estimated 2.375 million background checks for gun sales, the record for a single month since the modern background check system was instituted in 1998, according to a new analysis. Last March, the FBI performed 1.3 million.

The reasoning in the article seems a bit tenuous.

"Shopper at gun range doesn't understand idea of treating every single firearm as if it were loaded; they MUST be a liberal"

Hold on, let me grab my "jump to conclusions" mat from the closet and roll it out right quick.

I could turn that kind of presumptive logic around and make very flawed, very irrational statements about gun owners. It doesn't matter who the target is, when you throw around baseless generalizations, they are still just generalizations.

That said, IMO it's telling that certain "Blue States" jumped right to the "conclusion" of closing gun stores at the first hints that COVID might possibly lead to social unrest. Nothing annoys me more than hypocrisy, and when I hear politicians blather on about reducing legal, vetted access to firearms, whilst spending large amounts of tim surrounded by armed bodyguards, it amazes me that someone speaking to large masses of people could present such lack of self-awareness, and the disconnect between what they say and how they behave ("No no, ~you~ common people have no need for firearms, only we few Chosen Ones get to have armed escorts")

I can see how the gun shop owners have a bit of schadenfreude over this whole ordeal, but IMO the smugness of the article is not becoming.

How did they even qualify? Aren't most of those exhibiting TDS prescribed anti anxiety or anti depressent meds?

"Oh, you mean these laws apply to me as well? That doesn't seem fair".

" I'm a law abiding citizen".

Just... Karma.

It's probably wishful thinking on my part that this may have positive consequences for our 2A rights going forward.

Although from the sounds of it they will just blame the shop owners and not their own politicians.

Still funny... thanks for posting!!

Yeah don't count on it. These are the same people who flee Cali because of the high taxes and absurd prices on homes and everything else, go to places like Texas and then vote for the same kind of assholes that ruined California.

You really need to take a defense course. People trespassing on your property is not a justifiable reason to shoot them. And, depending on the state, shooting them with non-standard ammo could result in charges for you as well.

You are a prime example of someone who has seen too many movies.

California has allowed each county to determine if their gun stores are to be closed. My county thinks they are essential so ours are open.

By doing that it would bolster my main point face. This assumption that people who want to have reasonable gun laws are ''anti-gun EXTREMISTS'' is NRA propaganda. It's not true. Sure, some may be extremist but by no means does this anti-gun enthusiasm extend to all liberals. It simply is not true however it does suit the political agenda of painting all liberals with the same extreme brush.

What are you talking about? I consider myself to fall on the progressive side of things and I just bought my GF a sweet little Glock pink 9mm. In the real world, most libs I know all have firearms.

I'm for some gun control to ban drunks, felons, domestic abusers and crazy MFers shouldn't have firearms.

Anyone else, it's your money, buy whatever you want.

did you register it in her name, or was this a "straw purchase"?

I believe it. The guy I always talk to in my favorite gun store said it’s been crazy (and that’s crazy by Idaho standards, mind you). He said the downside will be April because they had depleted their inventory so much.

I went in looking for a couple of models that I’ve wanted to buy simply because prices are good but will get a whole lot worse if (big if there) the Dems take more levers in November. Historically speaking, it’s worked that way, anyhow.

Ammo buying has been the real PIA around here.
Sportsman’s Warehouse was allowing 2 boxes per day per customer. I thought it was 2 boxes per caliber, which seemed reasonable under the circumstances. So I’m merrily going through grabbing 2 of all the usual when they set me straight. It felt like a Russian breadline compared to the norm around here.

There's a difference between reasonable and how far a lot of these people want to take it. They want every state to be like California. As you can see from the article, people think that's a good idea until it affects them.
