Song said he expects the PLA to gradually hold larger and more frequent drills, and for the drills to become more targeted and have more deterrence, such as decapitation strikes against secessionist forces and area denial operations against foreign intervention.
The exercises need to let Taiwan secessionists know that the support of foreign forces is useless and also let foreign forces understand that the PLA possesses the ability and determination to solve the Taiwan question, Song said.
The first Chinese Type 075 landing helicopter dock caught fire today while in the dock at the Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard in Shanghai.
The Type 075 (NATO reporting name Yushen-class landing helicopter assault) is a new generation of Chinese amphibious assault vessel and far larger than similar ships previously constructed for the PLA Navy and very similar to the U.S. Navy’s America Class landing helicopter assault ships.
According to released photos and video on social media, a fire broke out as welders were working during the construction process. A thick plume of black smoke was seen from the well deck.
This is what happens when you allow a totalitarian slave labor nation to become the manufacturing capital of the world just so we can save a few bucks.

Not really, in a conventional war they are toast if they come up against the US and they know it.
They sink an American warship under this administration and it is "game over".

It’s inevitable that China will attack Taiwan.
Then we will face WWIII, for sure, as the US is a staunch ally of Taiwan.

You might be right. I'm not going to argue over this.
I'll have to disagree with you on this one.

Just ask yourself, what incentive would America have to plunge itself into a war that would destroy our country to defend Taiwan?
Look at the Cold War. We were engaged in proxy conflicts with the Soviets all over, yet at every step both us and the Soviets bent over backwards to avoid direct war with each other. Why?
Because both sides knew nobody wins that war, it would be a disaster, even if it didn't turn nuclear.
The same calculus applies today between us and China. Now, war is unpredictable. It's always possible for something that no one intends to escalate into a war to do so because one side miscalculated. But neither us nor China would intentionally start a war with the other. It just wouldn't be in our best interest.

Taiwan Allies International Protection and Enhancement Initiative (TAIPEI) Act. The legislation urges the president to support Taipei with arms transfers and official visits and to consult with Congress on strengthening bilateral economic ties. The bill also directs the administration to back Taiwan’s participation in international organizations and to encourage other countries to enhance their ties with what only 14 countries (plus the Vatican) now recognize as the Republic of China (ROC).
Beijing has been pressing hard to flip more of the few countries that still recognize Taipei — both Kiribati and the Solomon Islands flipped last fall. The Trump administration wants to punish such countries
