The ball in their court seems to end like Waco or Ruby Ridge. Maybe even the Occupy movement, where peaceful protesters where maced/pepper sprayed and dragged away.

The reason people like madmac complain, but aren't acting, is because we want to exhaust all avenues.

Trust me, you don't want the silent mass moving against this. It's worse than the cold war red threat. Nukes would be quicker and more "humane" than the true turmoil of a 2nd civil war. Only a fool would see otherwise.

I read that but that is why the question about the 2nd is rhetorical. Like Nyiah said, it is toothless if it is never actually used.

Why go around mentioning it all the time if people are born, grow old and die, while trying to exhaust all avenues and all the while living under a "tyrannical" government?

We (the American people) decide what that line is... and the truth is... we aren't pi$$ed off, yet. We are more concerned with our neighbors... our neighborhoods... our communities. When those get impacted... well... I put my faith in my neighbors... as expert marksman. We take care of our own. This applies even more, in my neck of the woods.

Sadly, some people just won't get it, until after the fact.

Then their little light bulb will get lit and hindsight will be 20/20.

Well. If there goal was to make us feel like worthless pieces of sh!t, it's working.

I had to call unemployment today, you would have thought I was asking this pric for money out of his own bank account, pisses me off to no end.

I've not worked in about a week now, I've finished up all my chores and tasks I had planned for the month.

I, for the first time in my life, am dependent upon the government keeping their word, doing as they say.

So yeah it working.

Luckily I got a call today from an old friend, he's building a sun room and needs some help and is willing to pay for it. Shhh don't tell unemployment...

I just pray this is over soon.

No, I'm pointing out that it is all talk until you actually do something. I don't even think an honest effort into exhausting all avenues is even happening, but by all means use that as your excuse.

I don't care if you do or you don't. I'm just saying that it isn't happening despite people complaining about government chipping away at the constitution.

You said there is a line but it seems to me you set it way out there so that a whole lot of complaining gets done before even getting close to it.

I think the question, "When is enough, enough?", is pretty legit.

Especially when the OP is saying that this is a taste of socialism and in other threads people are saying that this might be a permanent thing.

Let's say that we continue on towards this path of becoming a socialist country. Not through violence, but by legislature.

I'm geniunely curious. Because, there are people here on this site who make similar claims as yours, and yet there's nothing to back those claims up. Just rhetoric.

The truth is that so far all of the "Patriots" in this country have just complained the whole way to today as everything they love slowly slips out of their grasp.

Even in Virginia. That episode where the Virginian state government proceeded to provide a path for more strict gun control measures they practically just stood there. Yet as many chanted "We will not comply!" They may as well stood there with daisies hanging out their barrels singing Kumbaya.

The truth is I don't think people have the cajones to stand up for themselves anymore. Oh, they'll say they do, but I don't believe it.

All I hear is talk.

None of you want to put your life, your families lives, your comforts, and your careers at risk.

If it came between coming together and dragging a state or federal official out into the streets to be made an example of or taking a pittance once or twice a month to maintain a bit of comfort most, if not all of you, would take the latter.

I think what we’re seeing now is equal to slamming on the brakes to avoid a collision and while it may help to a degree, you’re vehicle is still going to get totaled and you might get roughed up a bit.

I’m not going all anti-Trump right now, but take this into consideration- Say back around January 3rd that Trump received notice of this pandemic and said “Let’s figure this out now before sh!t hits the fan. If we wait until the last minute to bail the economy, the House is going to fight us over anything we try to pass and write their own bill we’ll be forced to sign because we won’t have time to sort it out. I want models, predictions and solutions NOW.”

If you hear someone trying to break into your house, do you wait until they’re inside before grabbing your gun, or do you have it loaded and ready as you call through the door “You might want to think twice about coming through that door because you won’t be walking away from this.”?

We waited until the virus was already here then slammed on the brakes without checking if little Johnny in the backseat was wearing his seatbelt. We grabbed our guns after the intruders already broke in and forgot to make sure the gun was loaded.

Before we even went into essential only here in Broward county, I had the property I maintain as ready as we possibly could be. Hand sanitizers at every possible door and elevator, automatic paper towel dispensers next to them and trash cans underneath. Foot-operated door openers on every door. Protocols for maintenance entering buildings the following morning after work orders submitted to avoid as many people as possible. The owner of my company started calling some of more fragile tenants (commercial property) such as the cruise line, fulling anticipating their loss of business, to work out their rent situation. There has not been a single thing we’ve had to do in a rush since Broward went to essential only. We’re stocked on supplies of sanitizers, cleansers, face masks and gloves, so much that I’ve driven boxes of it to local hospitals because we had enough to spare. We knew it was coming and spent two weeks preparing, now we’re just riding it out.

It’s obviously too late now, but before anyone gets all up in arms, in the panic sense or the munitions sense, look at this objectively. The country was not prepared for a shut down such as this. I very much hope this is going to leave a lasting impression and sense of urgency in the need to plan ahead for the worst. This forum is sprawling with members who discuss their bug-out bags and SHTF scenarios, yet the slightest amount of sh!t on the fan blades and people are ready to draw their weapons.

What's going on now isn't a 'taste' of socialism, it's full on Golden Corral-all-you-can-eat-buffet of socialism.

Just looking at congress/local/state governments and how they've performed during this I am given the mental image of several monkeys dry-humping a dead giraffe.


We have states punishing you by presuming guilt.
States arbitrarily banning the sales of guns.
Punishment for exercising the 1st Amendment.

Hmm, the Feds (Trump) have issued guidelines. The ordinances and emergency powers decrees that the cops have been acting on? Those are all local at the state and city level by individual mayors and governors. That's where the force of law has been biting from.
