I don't think most of the left has bad intentions. I think most of them think with their heart instead of their brain. I would not be against most leftist ideas if it wasn't for three things..

1. We can't afford it.
2. Government #s up everything it touches. See college tuition and healthcare for reference.
3. Human nature.

Yeah, I don't think that the US government can afford anything these days.

Apparently he did it on the back of the USPS. I’ve been wondering how he can ship stuff free while the rest of us pay 37.00 for something the weight of a pack of toilet paper.

I remember the good old days in Chicago when mail bags would be found ablaze under highway overpasses. Or storage units stacked to the rafters with undelivered mail. Of course the packages all managed to open themselves and anything valuable was able to grow legs and walk away never to be seen again...

Lol don't get too excited. The day after they Nationalized Amazon they will go after Walmart and each store will have 1000 employees per shift doing nothing but being rude to the customers, but they will all be paid 100k a year and top of the line health insurance. Anyway, on topic: My main question is what would honestly stop Amazon (or any other company targeted with this idea) from just closing any and all buildings on US soil and moving to somewhere less hostile to their businesses? Their main business is, and always has been, online based. They can literally do that from anywhere.

Only potential downside I can see (and I'm likely missing a bunch) is the US government applying a duty to goods sold through Amazon. Which could end up making items cost more, thus driving away some customers. However, I think it may not matter to most people (so long as the applied duty isn't ridiculously expensive). They are so conditioned to going on to Amazon to find the product they want that it likely wont make a large difference in the end.

But like I said, I'm likely missing something (or a bunch of things) here.

I was a prime member for almost 20 years. It was great...but then.....

They opened up a ton of local distribution centers and started delaying orders because a local distro would ship in one day regardless. So they sandbagged # in order to try and "stall" for 2 day delivery(what I paid for). When a local(40 miles away) distribution center opened up I'd get ANYTHING one day by UPS ground, but since I was paying for "fast" shipping(2 day) they stalled orders.

10 years ago, I'd order, and withing 2 hours I'd get a shipping notice, then it went to 12, then to 24, they backed their ass into a corner.

I got WORSE service the more they expanded, which makes no sense(other than to protect their illusion of prime(I never watched their streaming #).

I finally dumped it, I'd rather goto walmart. It was a poor business move. And that's why they have had a chunk taken out of them when all the others(walmart, target) started doing free 2 day.

They had a good thing going, and then when they expanded tried to hide it and still charge.

I've spent 15 to 20K a year at amazon in the old days when I was assured immediate(within 6 hours of order) shipping confirmation. That's long gone.

I also transitioned away from the "buying garbage I don't need consumerism" angle.

Amazon peaked.....

They outran the competition but the competition has stepped up. Their reign is done, they are market share now.

Bro; Amazon Prime does SAME DAY delivery now. I click on my computer "Buy" and 3 hours later someone drops it off at my door. Nobody is delaying packages....

What happened was growing pains, they solved them by hiring their own delivery drivers.

It's good to get away from consumerism, but to say that Amazon peaked? That's crazy, they are consistently the best place to buy almost anything on earth. You get a better price, you get free super ridiculously fast delivery, and they sell literally everything that can be sold legally.

Best store on earth.

Jealousy, that’s all socialism boils down to. Lazy skip rats who expect something for nothing and would rather lick boots than actually knuckle down and contribute.

For those of us with ambition are a real threat, freedom you see is about achieving your dreams unrestricted. They’d rather live in a nightmare.

It’s understandable really, their limited intellect restricts their choices in life so why should anyone else be happy.

I have a feeling the only reason they want to do this and believe u me they will attempt it with Facebook and Google as well...right now they have their satellite readable population 24/7 thru your mobile and soon either through injection or inhaled particles if not already they have smart nanotech which will be in your bloodstream and give off a unique signal so they can see u inside or out 24/7and monitor your every move. To achieve a complete world map as well as the required logarithms to create something akin to prescribe where u can be arrested for a thought or for AI saying you might do something, they need our data. And right now it takes pesky court hearings to get just one person's. Take over Facebook Amazon and Google, the three most data rich companies on earth, and they have their final step to the invisible prison. All that ish out there they say they won't share if governments ask to see it, well what do u do when the government buys the company and all its property? Someone did the gathering and now that it's compiled they will make the looking part legal. It's so sickening.

They should nationalize porta potty businesses if they handle that well (they wont) maybe consider pet grooming services.
