When I'm constipated, I poop.

To the OP;
In an effort to appear more intelligent a person will often times use words not known by the averaged person. In many of the instances of these usages, they will often use those words in obscure manners that hides the words intentions from people who do know what the words mean.

Oddly the mark of a truly intelligent person is the ability to communicate to a wide range of people using the words that are common among the majority of them.

Edger Allen Poe had this similar criticism of the whole Transcendental writers movement. While the theories behind the movement had merit, the inability of many of the followers to communicate their ideas out of "creative poetic art" created more issues than the movement deserved. So it might be a great idea to drop your "partum compages" and instead discuss what's on your mind without the "dignationis".

Sometimes it takes an intrepid picaresque trailblazer to shatter the paradigms of phronemophobia because, although you are correct that many very stately geniuses never resort to their full potential to achieve a pivoted congeniality with their audience, some people refuse to sink beneath the stooped resolve of the effective communicator to achieve a niche mentality that observes the subaudition missed by many to meet the curglaff of the rejection of the wider consensus but achieve a niche flair that doesn't conflate the plumage of exasperated logic with a subpar tact of the taciturn complicity to debase the noosphere with an infestation of redoubled belabored simplicities just to appease the common person.

While it is true that a vaunted grandiloquence is a prodrome of ostentation the fundamental mistake in this postulate is that the achievements that I showcase here could not otherwise be achieved with the machinations of the purely simple because this is not a pretense of stilted histrionics of vainglory but rather a sincere attempt to evaluate complex subfusc and subfocal domains of intellectual territory yet conquered by many who anticipate the burlesque rejection of complexity and therefore find dismal acclaim in the geck of the commonplace.

A wall of marble and a wall of stone, is at it's core "just a wall" to hide it's purpose by describing the difference insults the nature of both walls.

It might be a good way to limit your audience.
Don't have to deal with the riff raff if they don't understand what you are saying.

To define a wall of marble and a wall of stone, they are both at their core "just stone", to hide the material by describing the difference insults the nature of stone.

Is that a sign of intelligence?

If you only want to appeal to a terget audience, then you never have to grow or broaden your approach.

Sounds more like the signs of an individual that is narrow-minded.

But what do I know.

Hey what's up OP? You seem frustrated enough to make two threads about how much smarter you are than everyone else. Based on my experience that means a mouth-breather has you flabbergasted. This is definitely a time to seek others out with all the virus stress. Are you looking to feel connected with other "intellectuals" or do you just need to vent about someone's sheer stupidity?

You clearly have a sharp mind, what's got it wasting time on someone else's ignorance?

Exactly. How do you define a wall, or how do you define the items of the wall. If you want to discuss the wall as the item itself, then the nature of the wall in doing it's job is needed. If you chose to discuss the appearance of the wall, then only discussing the items that make up the wall are needed.

The use of words follow the same basic rules. If you wish to discuss a topic, then words that fall within the context of that topic are necessary for the conversation. On the other hand ... if using a topic to showcase a persons ability to extravagate their syntactic abilities, then any words can be used to highlight the speakers ability to celebrate that fact.

SO we are left with the simple yet important question:
"is the OP trying to communicate, or merely showcase?"

You have a strident point about the bravado of ostentation being a faffle unworthy of this demeaning exsibilation. The simplest truth about this attempt is that I am attempting to winnow through a wide audience to find people capable of appreciating my work and also in the ulterior attempt to fetch views for my fledgling philosophy. I don't want to come off as a scollardical jack-ass but sometimes you gamble with fanfaronade and it bites back at you in unintended ways. I was trying to fetch views for my philosophy but obviously that was a colossal backfire. Consider myself resigned for this petty attempt to confront pettiness.

The obvious answer is BOTH. But primarily to communicate the seminal. I am passionate about niche arcane writing and I know there is a limited audience for it but when I reticulate the complex through the refraction of the glints of subaudition I sometimes strand myself in an arena which seems more pretentious than amicable to even scholastic crowds. Ultimately, however, I consider my primary motivation to be a mastery of the arcane elements of philosophy that attempts to convey the seminal rather than just toot my horn to prove exceptional merits.

So I would say it is about 60% Communication and 40% showboating

This reminds me of Dungeons & Dragons 2nd edition. It used algebraic equations to produce a result in order to render the audience to "nerds only." Later editions started using linear math (dice roll plus basic addition and subtraction) and eventually straight up "theatrical points" (dice roll plus how badly you want a specific outcome) to augment dice rolls to make it more accessible to a wider audience. Consider your endeavor a success when you dial in the vocabulary that gives you access to the desired audience but doesn't alienate anyone that is rusty on nigh useless old words that require a little googling for anyone not actively attempting to in engage the same verbal distancing.

I can wear a smoking jacket, sip upon a snifter of a fine brandy in front of a fire and say, "Penis clown fart". And basically ruin it all.

You have said, "Penis clown fart".

If you cannot reach your audience, then the fault lies with you, not the audience.

It doesn't prove any intelligence.

But it is possible he has a targeted audience and we're just not a part of it.

I feel nothing but sorrow for that audience, but I know as much as you. Maybe less.

I think that genius would lie in those who could talk to others in simple words, yet present intelligent thought beyond what most people use daily, but understandable ........ like Michio Kaku, Neil DeGrasse, and Nassim Harramein.
