Now we are hearing that trump knew about this virus as early as January 3rd. And did nothing.
The Chinese announced a cluster of the virus in December.
They didn't hide it like so many have claimed.

Now that ________ is saying that hospitals are thrilled with his response and that they have all the supplies they need. Why lie about that?
I guess he doesn't think his base is also dying.

Everyone on ATS knew about the 2nd or 3rd week in January. What's your point? Should he have shut the economy down then? Maybe he was operating based on advice from so called experts like the CDC and WHO.

When are people going to realize that they are still trying to take down the president and this is just the latest big idea.

Remember just a month or two ago when we were told that the people that voted for Trump need to be punished? And so here we are....being punished.

Just wait until the "what did Trump know and when did he know it" impeachment hearings start and the parade of experts prattle on and on about nothing at all and the media will tell us each and every one is a damning nail in Trump's coffin no matter what they say.

Sorry not feeling hate fear or distrust of my fellow man.
We are pulling together on this.

In the grocery store where we kind of smile as we make wide circles around each other or shrug like, it is what it is, and nod to one another.
We are in it together.

There is only one to fear. The one who's personal identity is knotted up with how everybody sees him. The one who is both conceited and suffering from low self esteem.
Because he lies to make himself look good and make others look bad.
And he is lying through one of the worst times in U.S. history when we really need a leader. All he cares about is getting applause and praise oh yeah and better be grateful too. Gratitude is high in his list of things he deserves.

Good thing we have other leaders who aren't concerned with how this makes them look and are really concerned with the lives of others.
Good thing as a whole we can depend on each other.

I highly envy the people in your area. Here in Florida, no one gives a f*ck.

In regards to the OP, who the hell trusted the government to begin with?!! This site practically thrived on people not trusting the government until 2016 and then somehow flipped a switch.

The inrush of the right-wing troll army, buoyed by the success of a social media propaganda campaign that got 'great leader' elected, perhaps?

Where is his great leadership now?

Staring you in the face.
Although , by nature , I wouldn't even expect you to realize it...
So , you will be a votin for the Democratic nominee in the US Presidential Primary election in November ?
You don't have to answer if you do not want to.
You can plead the 5th.

He's from NZ iirc but no matter. Only a fool would vote for Bunker Joe Biden at this point. The dems are only running a puppet show. They have been exposed as fake opposition.

Trump reacts quicker than 95% of the planet, and gets railed by left wing media and left wing politicians and you on the left still blame Trump.

Bs.

I love how Trumpets will twist reality to fit their needs. Yeah yeah everyone is out to get each other atm. Maybe everyone you know?

Meanwhile normal people with a heart and conscious are doing their best to help others. Trump? Trump thinks New York should be super duper grateful for HIS help, not the government's, not the federal branch nope all Trump.

Then you've got the questionable things that's been done recently and it's blamed on Congress. Honestly you are all #ing mental.

Name the countries in order that closed the border to China. Name the countries whose leaders suggested social distancing and lockdowns in order.

When you are done you can apologize for accepting MSN lies as the truth.

The funniest thing about all the posts directed at me and my pro trump views is you can click on my past threads and find out that I believe in a much more socialist viewpoint that some would say paint me far left.

I think Trumps Capitalism is a failed economic model that only benefits the few and is doomed to collapse.

But I can toss away my political views to defend the truth. The constitution, democracy and the truth are more important to me than my political views.

For what reasons do you carry guns? To defend against tyrannical government? To defend against other citizens? The ultimate distrust.

I don't think you can blame the virus for the way American society operates.

There is a poison at its root that is killing the leaves.

You on the gun control for the US again ?
Haven't we been through this before ?
Yes , yes we have.
And ignorance was denied .

Ignorance was ignored (that is what ignorance is).

The topic was distrust of government and citizenry. My point was on topic.

Ignorance was ignored (that is what ignorance is).

Evidently .

Other countries have a mass shooting every decade or so. In the US, it's every other week. Gun ownership is not protective in the US, it is overwhelmingly destructive.

People are both armed and distrustful. The virus isn't the cause of the problem.

This thread is not about gun control...
It could loosely be connected with the Unconstitutional act of disregarding the 2nd Amendment .
Yet , there is no major connection to gun control.
So , instead of sounding something like a phone VRU , you might want to find a different subject to post on

The WuFLu didn't teach me that.

I lost trust in 2008.

As the OP

The topic is how this current VIRUS has caused deepening distrust and fear of: everyone outside your home: the media due to biased reporting: the government due to their infighting and telling everyone they should hate/loathe/despise their fellow US citizens who aren't following the "correct political doctrine"

Gun control is off topic.

I'm sorry, but it seems like there was already plenty of mistrust before the virus.
So much so, I haven't really even noticed an increase. The virus seems to be just another avenue to nurture, justify, and grow that mistrust.
And, we would probably be in a better situation if we weren't so paranoid to begin with...

Look what someone else stated back in January, and this guy is a so-called expert:

How dare you post that? You know Trump is all at fault and no one else. It's all about Trump. I mean when he cut off the international flights you saw what the reaction was from the other side right? They were 100 percent behind him and could only comment what took you so long? Sarcasm aside, Silly probably won't reply to this, the same way she doesn't reply to posts that show another side of what she is claiming, AKA the truth.

I can't plead the 5th. The US Constitution doesn't apply to other countries.

Nor will I vote in the US elections at all.

Also, look at the statistics, the US administration (whomever you want to blame) is the absolute worst in the world at slowing the spread of COVID-19.

OK, in other countries, they are now getting the spread of the virus under control.

My guess is that these other countries are grateful for the efforts of their people and their administration in getting on top of a bad situation. I know I admire our government which has risen to the task and coordinated to prevent runaway spread of the virus, as we have seen in other countries.

One of our government's often repeated messages was "Be kind and unite against COVID-19". I think that our response will create a stronger, more compassionate and cohesive community. We are getting through this.

And if you look at the statistics instead of listening to the news media, it's also apparent that covid-19 is not really a big deal in the overall scheme of things in the United States.

There is, so far, no change in the rate of infections which is still accelerating.

There are 337,072 cases and 9,619 deaths since the start of the outbreak. By the end of the week there will be 500,000 cases.

There were 31,826 more cases in the 24 hour period up to yesterday's figures.

2.9% of the infected have died so far.

Hey, but more do die of other causes, these would be added to those deaths for other reasons, but deaths for other reasons would be off-topic, wouldn't it?

I already hated the federal government and practiced social distancing because of my basic dislike of humans. None of this changes how I feel or conduct myself, however, I had a policy of accepting my death in a SHTF scenario rather than trying to survive it and I feel like I should begin to prep for some less serious situations like the Chinese Virus. I had imagined far worse situations than this pandemic.
