Both Billies seem to bathe in gloom, if you call that bathing. your OP's distinctly lean and are, comprised of Doom or Gloom. I'd bid you 'good day' but that could Trigger. Despite your prognostications, much of what you say or expound may never come true..... Does that Alarm you. I kind of figured you would take a negative view.

Despite your view of life, there is still Wonder, charm and Good People.

Trump reacts quicker than 95% of the planet, and gets railed by left wing media and left wing politicians and you on the left still blame Trump.

Bs.

I love how Trumpets will twist reality to fit their needs. Yeah yeah everyone is out to get each other atm. Maybe everyone you know?

Meanwhile normal people with a heart and conscious are doing their best to help others. Trump? Trump thinks New York should be super duper grateful for HIS help, not the government's, not the federal branch nope all Trump.

Then you've got the questionable things that's been done recently and it's blamed on Congress. Honestly you are all #ing mental.

What I've proved is my intelligence. My ability to research and learn and not be fooled by what sycophants try to convince me is true.

I'm not led by the conspiracy crowd.
I don't believe in fantasies or live in a dream where everything is exactly opposite what is real.

Yea but what if you're wrong and nobody did social distancing and the u.s. got much worse?

The people who don't do it, if they are adults, should be free to take their lives into their own hands.

We will all be exposed eventually, it is inevitable, there won't be a vaccine for close to 2 years because that is how long it will take to develop and know the safety of a vaccine.

Those who don't want to get the virus can self-isolate and socially distance and tell others to get out of their space.

We CAN NOT keep this up for the nearly 2 years it will take for this to end. What makes you think we can?

The virus is too widespread now for any quarantine to work for the country. Once the lockdown is over a second round of massivly ill people WILL happen as those who are upset and in denial (like the spring breakers) will continue as if nothing every happened, going into Darwin afterlife.

Why not allow those who are idiots to darwin themselves, and their loved ones who know how they are behaving and still interact with them? I will feel compassion for their wretched and idiotic decisions. I will have compassion for their loved ones who choose to interact with idiots. But should we not respect their rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?

Before the lockdown, most people, most sane adults, most sane parents were socially distancing and self-isolating. Those are the types of people we want to survive. But even those people must be exposed eventually or self-isolate and socially distance for 2 years when a vaccine is available to not be exposed.

What we are doing now is slowing the spread so the hospitals can handle the load. I'm ok with it for a week or so more, but not at all beyond the end of April. I am sad that we are beyond the point where quarantine will stop the virus, it won't any longer, all we can do is slow the spread so hospitals can care for those who sadly get desperately ill. THIS IS INEVITABLE.

By the end of April we need to go back to opening up so there will be a future for our nation. If we don't there will be no decent future for the nation because the nation will be totally and completely destroyed - something I think many politicians are salivating at happening so they can enforce a draconian form of socialism upon us.

Do you really think the government should keep the nation on lockdown until no one is at risk and everyone vaccinated, for 2 years? Do you want to see the end of the US as it was and never will be again? That is what would happen and is the deepest wish and desire of Russia and China. Anyone who thinks this is a good idea is colluding with Russia and China to destroy the nation, in my opinion.

I hope it doesn't come true. But much already has.

People are more deeply entrenched than ever in hating/despising/loathing/distrusting anyone, anyone at all who doesn't hold the exact same political ideas they do - and the media and politicians are gleefully encouraging even more hate/loathing/fear and distrust than every before in the history of the US.

For what reasons do you carry guns? To defend against tyrannical government? To defend against other citizens? The ultimate distrust.

I don't think you can blame the virus for the way American society operates.

I think the fear hype the news is pushing is finally starting to backfire a bit, though. I'll go check Fakebook for the replies to a local news article now and then, "lurk" the post, if you will. People are getting real fed up with the media's fear narrative, and are swinging back. My favorite thing swung back on is the news reporting only the death and confirmed cases numbers, and not the known recovered numbers. That's called out without a second thought now, it wasn't a few weeks ago.

The reporters or whoever's in charge of posting get defensive and try to shrug it off as not easy numbers to find. Then someone comes along with a link to something reputable with those numbers and rightfully chastises them for failing to figure out what investigative journalism is, lmao.

But yeah, the tide's slowly turning, and people are getting fed up in growing numbers.

Now we are hearing that trump knew about this virus as early as January 3rd. And did nothing.
The Chinese announced a cluster of the virus in December.
They didn't hide it like so many have claimed.

Now that ________ is saying that hospitals are thrilled with his response and that they have all the supplies they need. Why lie about that?
I guess he doesn't think his base is also dying.

This is not about Trump and when he "knew"
This is about the health organizations requiring time to isolate and identify what they are dealing with.

Denying ignorance.
Why ?
This is the first time in a while for this one.

" The "virus" in the US has taught us to fear and distrust, government, politicians, media, each other "

I started doing that about 30 years ago.

I returned after 11 years from an overseas assignment back in 2015. Didn't recognize the America I had left (and, I realize it has been changing for the worse, since at least when Nixon got his ass kicked to the curb ... something to be said about how smart Hammurabi must have been).

First thing I did was immediately stop trusting ANYONE except my wife and my dog. New neighbor moved in across the street from me. We've exchanged first names, and I doubt there will ever be another word of dialogue between us. It _is_ the new norm. Any new friends I make will be made on the rifle range. The value of 'other people' is rapidly reaching zero.

I trust in God. All others have to pay cash.
Been that way all my long years.

Sorry not feeling hate fear or distrust of my fellow man.
We are pulling together on this.

In the grocery store where we kind of smile as we make wide circles around each other or shrug like, it is what it is, and nod to one another.
We are in it together.

There is only one to fear. The one who's personal identity is knotted up with how everybody sees him. The one who is both conceited and suffering from low self esteem.
Because he lies to make himself look good and make others look bad.
And he is lying through one of the worst times in U.S. history when we really need a leader. All he cares about is getting applause and praise oh yeah and better be grateful too. Gratitude is high in his list of things he deserves.

Good thing we have other leaders who aren't concerned with how this makes them look and are really concerned with the lives of others.
Good thing as a whole we can depend on each other.

I highly envy the people in your area. Here in Florida, no one gives a f*ck.

In regards to the OP, who the hell trusted the government to begin with?!! This site practically thrived on people not trusting the government until 2016 and then somehow flipped a switch.

I didn't detect any gun control conversation in there, it was a question directly related to the OP and a very reasonable question. While I completely think it's sheer stupidity to believe that citizens can take on our armed forces, the entire reason I'm a gun owner with a CCW permit is because I do not trust people in the city I live in.

The inrush of the right-wing troll army, buoyed by the success of a social media propaganda campaign that got 'great leader' elected, perhaps?

Where is his great leadership now?

Other countries have a mass shooting every decade or so. In the US, it's every other week. Gun ownership is not protective in the US, it is overwhelmingly destructive.

People are both armed and distrustful. The virus isn't the cause of the problem.
