There's an "update" thread for this sort of thing.

Are you in Sweden? What is the status of official measures? I've heard varying reports here on ATS.

Iam in Denmark, right next to sweden.

We are on lockdown. Only essentiel shops are open. all federal workers have been sent home, only health and essentiel services are open. Kids are home but most people still go to work. We can go out but have to stay 6 feet apart and be no more than 10 people together.

Sweden are still open, restaurants, cafes and nightcloubs are still allowed, they can only be 50 people gathered and are asked to be carefull.

ETA: Sorry to start a new thread about it, if someone can share this info in the allready existing thread about it, please do so

Here is that thread.
Go ahead and post there (I don't think there would be any problem with doing so), and continue to do so. Include your reports from Denmark.

Sweden has opted for herd immunity. They have a few social controls, but mostly they are going to ride out the spike.

What it says to me is that if you are non-elderly in Sweden, it's basically a non-issue.

The Swedes are all young, blonde, and sexy.

Everybody knows that.

The other interesting part is that both their neighbors, Finland and Denmark went for more controls, like we do in Quebec. The next few week will be significant. Our last health minister Barette said on air today that those countries with so many similarities but different approach, will tell us more on the better ways to deal with the pandemic. Barette is a doctor, radilogist, health minister 2014-2018.

I imagine the whole world will be watching Sweden at this point.

I personally believe this is the right approach. Time will tell.

Because of their decision I think a separate thread on Sweden is a good ideal. SnF for sharing

Won't oppose your decision to join with the existing thead, but your 3 countries are trying something different where we could all learn a bunch...

Well, here in Sweden we count any death that occurs within 30 days of confirmed covid-19 as covid death. No matter actual cause of death.
Make of that what you will.

In addition we only test individuals in need of healthcare.
Average age of death 83y (last I checked), expected lifespan 80,4y male, 84y female (2015).
And around 2/3 of casualties are male.

Currently living in Sweden, and yeah, there is very little panic going around. Only small stores sometimes run out of TP for instance
Most places are open and just elementary protective measures have put into place, like isolating the retail clerks with plexiglas and people keeping their hands clean. I must say that I agree with this method, because the ecoomic panic will not only decrease social well-being more, but will also increase more deaths then the virus itself. According to this meta-analysis www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov... your risk of death increases 63% when you lose your job. With economic depression, not the old and the weak will be the highest risk groups, who have high risk of death. The healthy and the young ones will be more at risk not only from death, but also for becoming anti-social, meaning that law-abiding young professionals could turn towards crime etc. and by that it creates an rolling snowball effect that is very hard to predict and that can ripple through many future generations.

I hope that the Swedish goverment with it's people continue to take this with cool heads and my bet is that it will work out for them well if they do so. My bet is that in the future, the current event won't be called as the great corona pandemic, but rather as the great corona panic.

Actually, according to the numbers quote - they have a very high death to confirmed infection rate. 6%.

Higher then the normal 1% to 3%.
