100,000,000 people died during that had a recession for 1 year then the roaring twenties. Any thoughts on how this happened and if it compares to recent times. The twenties had a great expansion of industry and production. Was it just good timing or an American ingenuity, hard work , and just people in general. Think we can do that again.
Keep in mind we will have 2000 percent less deaths in a world with double the population

You're aware of how the 20's ended?

If not I've got a really relevant spoiler warning to share.

There's quite a bit going on behind the scenes as well a lot of people don't realize because of the distractions at hand.

A lot of tension has been building up for a while.

Or, could be nothing, like it has many times we all thought something could happen.

edit: Just realized I skipped a few years and fast forwarded quite a bit.... So not as relevant.

After the Bubonic Plague we had the Renaissance. So many people died that there was a surplus of used clothing which was used to make paper for the newly invented printing press. Cheap paper made for cheap books which spread knowledge. The Renaissance fueled the Industrial Revolution.

Umm, or maybe it was aliens. I dunno.

You would almost say it's a natural wave like the tides in which humans a moving grain of sands in the natural evolution of strengthening the species.

The crashes are just fabrications of our own and hold no real value.

Human race has reached rock bottom.
There might be some good that comes out of all this.
We can hope.

We have not reached rock bottom, yet.

I believe the purpose of the shelter in place/lockdown orders being put in place around the world were/are an attempt to at preventing us from actually hitting that point.

Not to usher in a totalitarian World Government.

Not (solely) to stem the spread of a new virus to which no one has (as yet shown) immunity.

But, quite possibly, to prevent mass unrest, panic, rioting, violence, social collapse, and ultimately

War - easily escalating under the prevailing conditions to a likely worldwide conflict.

Everyone is focused on the “The Virus”, and they are ascribing all the deprivations we are enduring to that one cause; never considering the potential consequences of what would happen if our world suddenly, en mass, woke up to the realization that the very foundations of our shared economy had failed, utterly and quite possibly, irreparably.

It’s a ”I’m going to slap you in the face as hard as I can so that you don’t feel it as much when I try to re-set your broken leg” moment.

I wonder if it's at all possible that the virus is a byproduct of the building tension people are filled with right now? Maybe they saw what was inevitable between people and government and decided to lay the hammer down in this manner to finally control the masses.

It's a rabbit hole thought but still a thought

Hmmm Gives me a great idea for a movie!

- Herod reincarnates into today's world to try and stop the Christ from being born again. Last time, he killed all the first born in hopes of stopping his coming but miserably failed. Since he can't get away with that sorta thing now, because people might frown on punching babies... He just makes a virus that targets certain bloodlines in hopes of stopping the second coming.

Sign me up Hollywood! I'll sell the idea to you for a million bucks. Daddy needs a brand new fully loaded 2020 ZR1.

....oh wait
