Last week we already received about 15 million face masks but once they were distributed to the hospitals it soon showed that the masks are worthless!
We bought them as fpp2 and N95 masks but they came without certificate, packed in used banana boxes and the quality poorly. Tests shown that the masks don't offer any protection at all for healthcare workers.

Sounds like this story may be Chinese propaganda to counter the growing criticism that the supplies they are so "generously" sending to everyone are garbage.

Some media outlets and even governments are eager to make the Chinese look like the "new leaders of the world" and will happily spread this propaganda without bothering to verify anything.

So this is also happening in within the united states...if you have more money you get the order..what all companies should be doing is simply the same thing you do at the deli...pick a number and you will be next...but these companies whether they be the distributor or a communist country they will always go for the higher bid...

Every nation in the west should mandate X% of medical supplies and medicines be made in their country for national security reasons.

We all had large stocks of masks after 2003 Sars and 2009 flu. Most with expiry date 2016 so it was all destroyed... and never replenished . The military across Europe is asking for a larger emergency stock ever since then but they never make funds available. Europe was warned.

Well that can't be right. Here in the U.S., we're being told by our media that the only reason we weren't ready is because we have a bafoon for a President in Trump and that a real leader would've had us ready. The "real" leaders in Europe weren't ready either? Hmm.

So the question here is; Did he gets masks, or was something else brought it?

That is a bit of a crappy remark... especially since the first shipments of medical gear that came from China into Europe were donated... not by their gov, but by private companies like AliBaba. That was the good gear.

What do you suggest those countries do when they don't have the capacity yet to start up production to manufacture masks on a large enough scale? Put their citizens at risk? Let doctors work without protective gear?

14.49 Uhr: Eine vom Land Berlin in China bestellte Lieferung von Schutzausrüstung soll von den USA abgefangen und in die Vereinigten Staaten umgeleitet worden sein. Das berichtet der "Tagesspiegel" mit Verweis auf Berliner Sicherheitskreise.

Die Stadt Berlin habe bei dem Hersteller Atemschutzmasken mit den Schutzklassen FFP2 und FFP3 bestellt, die Einsatzkräfte und Pflegepersonal vor Ansteckung mit dem Coronavirus schützen. Es soll sich um eine US-amerikanische Firma handeln, die in China produziert. Die Ware soll dann auf dem Weg vom Hersteller nach Deutschland von den Amerikanern abgefangen und in die USA gebracht worden sein.

Ein Polizeisprecher bestätigte den Vorgang gegenüber der "Welt": Demnach habe Berlin bereits für 400.000 Masken bezahlt. Ein US-amerikanischer Unternehmer habe den Informationen zufolge dann aber anschließend ein Kaufangebot gemacht, das die Berliner Summe erheblich überschritt. Die Masken seien daher dorthin gegangen; Berlin bekomme das Geld jedoch zurück, schreibt die Zeitung.

Nach Informationen des rbb soll es sich um eine Bestellung der Berliner Polizei handeln, die am Flughafen Bangkok umgeleitet worden sei. Bei der Generalzolldirektion in Bonn gäbe es laut rbb bisher keine Erkenntnisse, dass nach Deutschland bestellte Lieferungen durch Behörden oder Mittelsmänner in die USA umgeleitet worden seien.

Ähnliche Vorwürfe aus Frankreich hatte ein US-Regierungssprecher bereits zurückgewiesen. "Die US-Regierung hat keine einzige Maske gekauft, die von China an Frankreich geliefert werden sollte", sagte der Sprecher der Nachrichtenagentur AFP. Die Präsidenten von drei französischen Regionen hatten den USA unsolidarisches Verhalten vorgeworfen, auch Kanada lässt solche Berichte prüfen.
