Just seeing her face in that screenshot makes me want to vomit.

It is just someone's face.

Such an extreme and irrational response to a human face may well be a symptom of brainwashing.

You should see the Secretary of Health of the State of Pennsylvania, Dr. Rachel Levine.

... and, I know it is probably beside the point, but, since there isn't a cure, and since it is only 1,000 more beds and facilities.

What exactly is this one floating mini-hospital going to achieve?

Wouldn't it be best to send every hospital ship, like the USS Mercy, the Gerald R Ford and Nimitz class aircraft carriers (which have large on-board medical facilities) and all the other smaller medically equipped vessels, too?

The answer, according to what I have read, is that the hospital ship can take emergency patients that are not coronavirus patients when existing hospitals are overloaded with coronavirus patients. There will still be people having heart attacks, appendicitis, etc.

There, I fixed it for you

The ships are for non-covid19 issues and ailments, treating patients who aren't carrying the virus so they won't get infected.

their mission is to handle non virus patients.

It will treat urgent care patients who do not have symptoms of the virus, but who would otherwise face long delays at the city hospitals, allowing hospital personnel to focus on patients with the virus.

The USNS Comfort has 12 operating rooms and about 1,000 hospital beds, as well as an 80-bed intensive-care ward, a 20-bed recovery ward and a 280-bed immediate care ward.

USNS Comfort arrives in N.Y., military mobilizes for COVID-19 fight

bigger than a lot of hospitals.
at least try to inform yourself before you type

ETA: the USS Mercy has the same bed count and other Hospital equipment, like

The features onboard the Mercy include 12 fully-equipped operating rooms, a 1,000 hospital beds, digital radiological services, a medical laboratory, a pharmacy, an optometry lab, a CAT-scan and two oxygen-producing plants.

There were only 1,000 beds occupied in New York before the virus?

The issue isn't what the ships will do. It is one of capacity.

Yet this is being spun again. A PR stunt.

I fear it’s just going to become a Petri dish.

I know it’s there to help take the load off.
Best wishes and thanks to those working on those ships.
And lots of luck.

A lot of hospitals handle things called elective surgeries.... which have all been cancelled for the time being.
Believe it or not, the stay at home orders have made accidents caused by traffic and workplace injuries drop way down.

Have we heard her comment on this subject now that the Navy ship is in NY harbor or did the network just sweep it under the rug altogether?

Big deal.

Ever listen to Hannity? The guy intentionally lies on the regular.

Way different than being wrong.

Who the F is Hannity? This thread is about Rachet Madcow

I would think they would be sending people in the vulnerable age/underlying conditions groups to the ships for treatment first so as to minimize their chance of exposure to the virus. But, sure trump does something logical so it's a "PR stunt". We're gonna have a real bed shortage if they recognize and start treating TDS.

I remember, as a kid, we watched shows like Bonanza and Laugh In for entertainment. Now, prime time is pundits giving their opinions for ratings. They're just entertainers and they have a shtick to maintain. I don't see how anyone can take them seriously.

Who knows, maybe Rachel goes home every night and puts on a MAGA hat.

The Mercy, last I heard, was off Seattle, helping there. So. No.

As for the carriers, they're not hospital ships, their medical facilities are limited. They can certainly help out in other ways, but not as hospital ships, that is not their function.

In RL, he's the mirror image of Maddow. With all that that entails.

Going to beat this drum a bit longer...at the risk of someone not understanding me and crying "WHATABOUTISM!!!"...

....calling names is more divisive than what the media pulls. Especially when, in a 2 party state, one side is calling names that amounts to nothing more than projection.

If you think the "left" are snowflakes...just say "Happy Holidays" to a conservative during the holidays.
