Coronavirus Now Officially A Pandemic

It’s really baffling how a certain sect here on ATS seem to be incapable of differentiating between “accepting this is a pandemic” and “you’re totally panicking lulz.” As if somehow by acknowledging that this is a widespread medical issue that people should be aware of also means you’re suddenly #ing your pants over it.

I know. It is almost as if they are actively attempting to dissuade people from believing what is happening in Italy and has already happened in China.

There is no fear, no doomporn... just facts.

Yawn, getting pretty bored of Corona virus now I’m not even reading the news articles about it. With all the panic and worry, I’m still going to work, I’m still walking the streets and I’m still sleeping peacefully. Wake me up when it’s all over

Agreed. And you can choose how to react to the facts. Ignore them and make the bed while the bombs go off, or panic and buy the entire supply of TP, or prepare rationally.

Every person has a choice. Being panicky and upset about it is no more helpful than pretending it's not happening. Sometimes we just have to make the best of things in a bad situation. And we have to do our part to do the best we can to help slow the virus down...
..err. You know what I mean.

I am hoping the its just the flu crowd are right. But I do want to warn that likely the chinese have much better immune systems than we do so I dont think the 2% lethality 5% critical rates will stick. I suspect here in the US these percentages will go much higher. In addition, when markets move like they have this week the big players are moving it for a reason.

And now what better way to get the public more focused and scared of corona virus than announcing a well know celebrity that a lot of people love has now contracted the disease

And when Tom gets over it as he’s statistically likely to do, will you somehow spin that into the opposite of what you’re saying now?

I feel like shutting down travel and talking about deaths probably does a wee bit more to scare people.

ATS while the MSM is advising precaution: "They're liars, it's just a flu. Don't fall for it."
ATS IF the MSM played it down: "This is the END OF THE WORLD!!! They're liars, it's going to infect us and they're not telling us the whole story. They want us all to die!"
