Maybe it's best to keep China employed for the time being till we can work out real solutions to our economic conundrum?

I have wondered why we haven't outlawed anything ingestible from China since it was proven they were making dog food with cement and plastic in it. The FDA tests less than 2% of imported food.
India has been proven to have quality issues in the drugs they manufacture too. With ingredients coming from China, that's understandable.
Drugs should be manufactured in the US, with strict quality control over all of the ingredients used, IMO. And there should be sever penalties for any company caught subverting quality; mandatory jail time in addition to monetary fines. Lives depend on it.

It will take decades, maybe half a century to fix the mess our parents created.
We need new ideas, the old ones aren't working.

We have India, Mexico, Israel... Maybe China will sign their commerce death warrant
India gets almost all of its materials for the drugs they make and send to the US from China as well, it stands to reason they would target India with that embargo as well
If China does this then we would boycott everything Chinese made. Do you know what happens when we do that? Bye bye China. China's economy would completely collapse. We could also probably talk our allies into not buying their crap either in the name of sanctions.
China would quickly become a shadow of its former self.
New Delhi, Feb 24: In the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, India has imposed restrictions on export of certain medical equipment to China on Sunday. It is done in view of their short supply within the country and asserted that precautions taken by authorities were in accordance with the World Health Organisation (WHO)'s advisory on coronavirus.
On Sunday, the comments by the Spokesperson in the Ministry of External Affairs came after China raised the issue of India restricting export of certain medical supplies to it following the coronavirus epidemic in that country.

China doesn't look like they have the upper hand to me. Besides, the minute it appears they could challenge our global primacy is the minute we will (hopefully, with a rational leader) wipe them off the map.
Ever hear of the strategic national stockpile? Moving manufacturing capacity back to the US has been in works for 3 years now. and beyond that, we have "capabilities" to really put the hurt on them should we choose. Frankly I'm disappointed we haven't made a move yet given their current inability to sustain any sort of war.
I strongly suspect this is a bio-weapon that came out of Wuhan's BL-4 lab. All the pieces fit too perfectly for it to be random.

Can you pay 15$ an hour to every worker? Earning an actual living and taking care of others requires at least that much minimum.
Will Americans pay the higher prices?
But if everything is suddenly more expensive, 15$ hr may not be enough. Make it 25$ hr.
But that'll make everything even more expensive, so 25$ hr suddenly won't be enough. We'll need 35$ an hr...
It becomes an inflationary cycle.

China needs us for Soybeans and entertainment. On the other hand, our entire economy depends on them. How do we possibly have any sort of upper hand? LOL. That's NONSENSE.

Some people want war, some enjoy seeing others suffer, some are sold the lie war is glorious.
There are many reasons, another is that humans are inherently violent and bloodthirsty.
We people are our own worst enemies.
