Vegas is half empty. Look at any live cam. I visit there multiple times a week. It's a ghost town.

There are over 1000 people under observation in Vegas but they can't get test kits...

Sounds like he doesn't really, "play for his teammates", and doesn't care much for the fans that may be self-quarantined and watching from home.

Im a young male in San Diego and I could give less of #e, these people deserve to hurt themselves fighting over paper and water. False panic

Rather nonsensical rant there

The people hurting themselves fighting over essentials as you put it will be those that couldn't see whats coming down the track, meanwhile those you claim are panicking will be sitting at home with everything they need lol

The panic arrives when you're fighting over essentials last minute, there is no panic right now... just people warning you who don't care whether you're prepared or not TBH do what you think mate, see how it pays off

The CFR currently in Italy is 4.2% Italy currently has a quarantine in place to slow the R0

The country has put 11 towns on lock-down to contain the virus' spread.

Like i said, its A or B you quarantine or the virus runs through your population

Anybody who thinks the USA or any other first world nation will let a virus like this go unchecked is beyond DUMB, laughable

china closing off cities just indicates lack of experience and being unprepared, the US has been preparing for such situations since the cold war and acting rashly won't help anything, our government may make mistakes and act slowly oftentimes but it never acts irrational or without thought, everything is planned and orderly even when it fails.

No it doesn't, there are stages every government will use

1) Contain, or Contain & Delay running simultaneously is the initial steps to take, large scale testing to see the extent of the spread in your communities

Includes contact tracing of positive cases, and once contacted asking people to self isolate regardless of symptoms, CIVID19 is very hard to track considering the 14 day incubation period and high rate of spread, it seems COVID19 is impossible to contain without tougher measures

The USA has dropped the ball here MASSIVELY no doubt because most of these people are anti Trump

So to say they're better prepared is laughable, they're worst prepared than most at the minute and no doubt going to have to jump strait to delay

2) Delay, shutting down large gatherings possible lock-downs and quarantines where we currently see community transmissions occurring in numbers, OTHERWISE, as mentioned you're going to be overwhelmed very rapidly

AND....

perhaps a paradigm shift is taking place

the shrewd MBA/Lawyer/Banker-Broker Analyst is no longer the goal-keeper in-charge

with a Pathogen Pandemic , 24-7-365 as the near future way-of-life... health safety will be the replacement 'drive-chain' of the new socio-economic business model...

old models of Globalism even socialism will be cast aside if this Pandemic persists for longer than a black-swan event Crisis

health safety will preempt business world savvy and the production line virus transmission will become the costly expense to eradicate close to 100% as possible.... 8 hour shifts will be 50-50 experience-virus containment...so productivity will be reset 45% lower than present productivity claims by statistics manipulators the shrewd CEOs hire on today

the Corporatocracy rise will demote the current high-flyers like Bezoz hiding-under-the-blanket types in the corporate landscape... also the Bill gates vaccinator type will be Vetted very/very deeply with his views on population, also his views on Eugenics with a deep-pockets Foundation funding his 'visions' of Tomorrows world

dystopia commeth on a virus disrupter aimed at economy systems

For example, we sell prom dresses and wedding gowns we would begin manufacturing n95 compliant matching face mask as well as incorporate them into out bridal veils. Of course instead of "you may now kiss the bride" it will be "you may now disinfect the bride".

Is there a better source for this? Quarantine where? Surely not all of California?
You can only quarantine cases or suspected cases, right?

I’d like more info on this please, twitter pics are no good

It’s physically impossible to quarantine a city as large as Los Angeles and NYC. My guess is that these job postings are for quarantines of individual people, and not the cities.

It would be all over the news if it was entire cities. It is not and TB was one of them.
Lousy sources with no explanation

There’s not enough cases there to warrant closing large areas. There’s no widespread community spread like in Italy’s Lombardi region which has just done this.

While I appreciate this update, if I had to guess, they are talking about quarantining sick people in their homes. However - I have heard that cities could shut down. Like in New York, stopping all mass-transit. And buildings are being shut down in Seattle and New York already.

It has to happen, it'll be much worst if they don't

They'll come that point, whether its today, tomorrow, or in two weeks time, that the Army will need to enforce the quarantine because people are not listening to the self isolate and the R0 is still rapidly increasing

The challenge is to keep the ICU at manageable levels, but still far beyond that of its usual capacity

You guys crack me up. California is the world's fifth-largest economy. Moreover, it produces about 85-percent of all the produce the rest of the US consumes.

California has its issues, no doubt. Look first to their utterly incompetent Senators, for example. If they would elect a couple of senators with brains (as well as a slew of congress-critters and Mayors...) they might just overtake the fourth-largest economy in the world -- Germany.

I wonder how many people are exposed. I believe it will be hard to get any kind of handle on this for any kind of full blown quarantine.
Just read about an Uber driver in NY who tested positive. How many did he expose?

They should have quarantined California as soon as they started letting people poop and pee on the sidewalks.

Which will I dispute first?? Ok, the city wide quarantine of NYC.
And for second, I will dispute the statewide quarantine of California, but I will let it go down to Los Angeles county.

You saw a job posting for positions in those cities. Your speculation and your speculation only says this equates to soon to passass quarantine.

And as I stated in some of the hundred other disease of the season threads, there will be a constitutional battle at my home if someone tries to force my quarantine. I know it sounds laughable because your society is accustomed to bending over when Simon says without even a question or hesitation.

But this individual is a believer, and the one thing the State hates about believers is their lack of fear of death. I mean #, if you cannot get a man to be afraid of death, how you supposed to program and order them at a whim like cattle??

I don't stop living because Simon says be afraid. In fact my whole family is going to the Chinese state owned AMC theaters to watch Sonic on Tuesday. You must think I am just begging to die or something I bet.

But you'd be wrong. I already made multiple bets and claims in other threads that this hysteria is wrapped up by late May, right in time for Summer Blockbusters and travel season. Will also see the market rebound with double digit gains as well.

Now I'm not telling you to do anything different than Simon right now. Please, by all means! Be AFRAID!

You're exactly right. The gestation period before presenting symptoms is estimated to be 2-14 days average, possibly up to 20+. It's been too long, spread too wide, too many people have been exposed and exposed too many other people. Any type of mass quarantine would be too little too late at this point.
