Just a thought, I wonder if the EU have plans to create an EU Army...that was a bit of a rumour/conspiracy over the years, especially pre Brexit...I wonder if that is on the table now?

I’m in Scotland, they are repeating the same old crap on TV about wash your hands and if you feel ill self quarantine. Check my last post, this thing is a killer. No flu can get you, you recover and it gets you again without mutation

I hope it's ok to say this in this general thread, anxiety is a big problem for I think most people at the moment, and I've had a long battle with it anyway over the years, and I have found what really works for me and a lot of other people. It's been keeping me on an even keel lately. A long soak in an epsom salt bath, 500g of salts and at least 2 hours. Get in when there's very little water in and slowly fill up in stages so it stays warm, and lie back and let your mind wander. A good long soak, and you'll be like a jellyfish trying to get out of the bath after 3 hours.

If you're in a rush, add some water to a cup of epsom salts and use it as a salt scrub on your head, neck and shoulders. That can stop a panic attack in it's tracks.

I've just sat for the past few hours in a cold shed chatting to a neighbour who's been very dismissive of taking this seriously, and today he's moved through to the next stage of acceptance and needed someone to talk to. This, on a day when the last thing I've been feeling is positive or hopeful. I gave the reassuring talk, I told him that all around the world, this was going to come down to family, friends, neighbours, all pulling together and making sure nobody's on their own. And all the while, in the back of my head, I'm not sure the UK is going to deal with this crisis with the same WW2 spirit they're famous for. I've seen them at the reduced food section.

I think I need to take my own advice and then get some sleep.

Thank you. Funny I’ve been thinking about a bath with Epsom salts for some reason lately. I deal with depression, anxiety not so much. Shortness of breath, not at all.

I appreciate the advice.

This was a very interesting article. It did touch on one very important point that's ignored in all of these posts - who is being counted in these survival rate. I didn't see the data to know if they randomly tested to see if some people had no to very mild symptoms and then counted them It's very easy to fudge the death total too - just exclude older people and write their death off to old age.

There's plenty of wiggle room to either make this seem like a cold or worse than the plague.

Even the symptoms to look for are vague. I had a sore throat today (get them all the time from post nasal drip) but I heard a few coughs at work and got paranoid. Checked to see if it starts with a sore throat and some sites said it does and others didn't list it.

So I don't know if this is a hyped up cold or something more severe. I saw the thread about the H1N1 outbreak in the 70's and remember the recent SARS and Ebola, so there is a history of hyping up viruses - just don't know if it's real this time.
