I'm sharing a portion of a brief rant from Thom Hartmann. Thom always cites his sources and his facts on his website under "Sue's Stack" for his daily radio show. The citations are a few days behind because it takes a while for Sue to compile but I always trust Thom's evaluation of things because he is so diligent with his presentation and quickly changes his narrative if his facts/sources are wrong. Would that we ALL had this level of integrity.

www.thomhartmann.com...

The coronavirus is now in the United States, and apparently the infection in California goes beyond just one person, because they can't figure out how that one person got it.

Which means lots of people need to get tested, particularly if they have symptoms of a severe cold or flu which could indicate that they have the coronavirus.

Here's the problem. The average deductible for Obamacare insurance programs is $4000, which means if a person has these symptoms and takes a half a day off work to go get tested, they could end up with a bill of several thousand dollars as well as the lost time from work.

My added rant about "Why should you pay for other's Healtcare" - Epidemics don't respect wealth, power or prestige.

He goes on to rant about the people #45 has put in charge of this crisis.

And Health and Human Services secretary Alex Azar, the guy who made his fortune doubling the price of insulin when he was in the drug business, just said that he couldn't guarantee that a coronavirus vaccine would be affordable to the average person.

Trump just put a guy in charge of the coronavirus crisis who's big public health policy program when he was governor of Indiana was to force women to have funerals for miscarriages or be arrested

Again the entire rant can be found at:

Do your "sources of information" cite sources for facts?

Are you just repeating what you "hear" from these sources without question or wanting to know more?

Well, that's pretty much fake news (a distorted twisting of the facts)... so much for his citing sources and facts.

What I'd like to know, maybe you can answer that, if there's no state owned health facility where do you quarantine the sick people?
I've read FEMA turned them away? So who's doing all the testing?

No, actually, they don't... not necessarily at least. At least not for the patient's benefit. Some will develop complications that will require further testing for appropriate treatment. But plenty of people can no doubt weather this virus just fine. Just like any other virus.

And I'll bet lots of dollars to donuts that even more could if we taught people how to nurse and nurture their own bodies, and actually encouraged and empowered them to do so -- instead of putting all our healthy eggs into the very sick healthcare system.

I'm happy to consider a universal health plan alongside a private option, but we need a Patient's Bill of Rights first, that declares, prioritizes, and guarantees our rights and best interests.

Way too many people are the type to drink cough syrup and lie flat on their backs until they nearly drown in their own fluids. TPTB could save a ton of time, money, and other resources by requesting stores pull cough suppressants and having the media educate people to set up at least a 45 degree angle instead of bed rest.

Love how people are pushing there universal healthcare BS during a health crisis. A system that is notoriously known for being slow and complicated to fight a virus that is fast spreading. Sounds about par for the Democrats course...

Thank God more sound minds are in charge of this fight.

Drink lots of alcohol, the virus will flush out of your system in no time.

Viruses don't get on well with alcohol. 🍸

Exactly! There are even effective ways to place pillows on a normal flat mattress to sleep like a baby. I learned to do it for myself with asthma. When done right, it's actually far more comfortable than trying to lay down. Well place pillows are pretty amazing for reducing pain as well.

I wish they would also promote more nutritional and even herbal supplements. That would make some great PSAs. There's enough clinical evidence to do so with confidence -- and safety. Mega doses of C and D3, turmeric and olive leaf extract, and so many others. It can't hurt, and could go a long way toward mitigating worst case scenarios.

I don't know what your sources are, however here is what The Nation has to say (it's been around for 150 years:

The second type of regulation governs how abortion providers dispose of aborted tissue that is unsuited to medical research.

Clinics generally treat aborted tissue like other human tissue by contracting with medical-waste companies that dispose of it in a safe and sanitary way.

Now states including Indiana, Texas, Louisiana, and Ohio have gained ground with requirements that all aborted tissue be buried or cremated, so that “unborn infants” are afforded the same respect and dignity as human beings.

I have heard, so I can't state it as fact, that the CDC (National Centers for Disease Control) sends a test (and many don't see to work for anyone who has recently been in China.

Quarantine facilities have bee set up on a couple of Military bases - here in Cali it's Andrews Air.

States are beginning to send out their own tests, even develop them due to time constraints.

If you want to be tested, private insurance is not covering them.

This is a rapidly changing situation and the national response has been slow. Cuts in public health during the last few years (quite extensive in some cases) is exacerbating the mounting problems.

Now the administration has gagged some CDC doctors :

The Trump administration reportedly barred Anthony Fauci, one of the US' top experts on infectious disease, from speaking publicly about the coronavirus without approval.

FEMA is for natural disasters, not man made disasters.

Government, talk about a natural disaster.

A question the Government Healthcare Takeover proponents never seem to consider: Would you rather have a Trump or an Obama in charge of your healthcare? How about a Bush or a Clinton? It doesn't matter. Eventually, you will get all of them and some even worse.

And once government healthcare starts getting worse, it won't get better, no matter who is put in charge.

You said, and I quote:

"Trump just put a guy in charge of the coronavirus crisis who's big public health policy program when he was governor of Indiana was to force women to have funerals for miscarriages or be arrested.

That is not what the bill does. The woman has nothing to do with it. She doesn't have to pay for it, or attend the ceremony. She is not under threat of arrest. The bill simply requires that aborted fetuses not be treated as garbage, but as a dead human being.

So, your rendition was 100% fake news.

Absolutely not. It simply isn't needed.

The only thing that is needed is to add two new Parts to Medicare...

One for the poor/indigent, and one for those with pre-existing conditions.

If you get those two categories of people out of the Insurance Risk Pool, and make a few pother changes (like what Trump is trying to do with Price Transparency), allow Sales of Insurance across State lines, serious Fraud and Abuse prevention laws/penalties, etc - the Insurance undustry will work fantastically for the rest of us.

All I want/need is a Catastrophic plan with a rider for permanent disability. I don't go to doctors when I just get sick - I haven't been to a doctor in 25 years.

but we need a Patient's Bill of Rights first, that declares, prioritizes, and guarantees our rights and best interests.

As long as it includes things like paying for the patients treatments of choice - ie, if I want IV H2O2 or IV Vit C or Ozone Autohemotherapy to treat for cancer instead of Chemo, Radiation or Surgery, they pay for it - I'm all for that.
