And if your scenario happens you can damn well believe it will be the end of the electoral college. If Bernie manages to win the required number of EC votes but still doesn't get the presidency, do you really think that is indicative of a healthy electoral system?

He's not winning the electoral college vote because he's aiming to financially punish those that make up the electoral college. Just put yourself in their shoes. If you are an upper middle class electorate are you really going to vote to tax yourself more and get rid of your good health insurance for government care.

You won't be doing that and neither will they. It's a healthy system because what you don't want is the electoral college made up of poor people. They will just vote for unhinged wealth re-distribution which is what Bernie represents and it's never enough. Notice poor people never say they have enough. It's always more more more.

CNN just published an analysis of how the Electoral College map would look, the day before this year's November 3rd Presidential Election.

Summary:

The map allots 260 electoral votes to Trump, 248 to Sanders and puts 30 in the pure toss-up category.

"In our view, we think a Sanders nomination would tilt the election more toward Trump, to the point where the ratings would reflect him as a favorite," writes Kyle Kondik and J. Miles Coleman of the map.
Map and More at: www.cnn.com...

Since CNN and their "analysis and polling partners" are all heavily biased towards favoring Democrats, it's quite extraordinary for them to give Republican President Donald Trump the better odds of winning, this many months in advance.

And, since they gave Donald Trump less than a 10% chance of winning the Presidency in 2016, it's realistic to assume that the "slight edge" they're giving Trump over Sanders, will actually be a LANDSLIDE re-election victory for President Donald J. Trump.

No wonder Democrat Mega-Donors and level-headed Democrats are in a panic right now!

IMO, CNN is publishing this prediction early as a "WARNING!" to Democrat Party Leaders that they had better find a way to get Joe Biden the nomination. In every "Trump vs Biden" poll, dating all the way back to last May, Biden always wins.

-CareWeMust

Trump will certainly win with legitimate votes cast but it's the votes that are counted that will tell the story...

Trump will be lucky if he gets 15% of Republican votes.

Those people have TVs and they know what he is now.

His little base won't be enough to keep him in power which is why he is cheating AGAIN.

He loses no matter who the dem nominee is.

Count on it.

Roflmao... Someone didn't watch the primaries....

As I said, it is now the largest demographic. Bernie's support among that demographic is so large, at one point he polled higher among them than all other candidates combined.

Hillary lost because she slightly underperformed with certain demographics. You really don't think Bernie would win if he galvanized the largest voting demographic in the country?

No. They don't turn out in big numbers - ever.

Secondly, Bernie is going to galvanize everyone else against him.

Third, electoral college is going to kill him having any chance. He could theoretically slaughter everyone on the west coast and Northeast, but the rest of the country is not going socialist.

Let's take out the fact of Bernie being a socialist, remove it from the picture. What are we left with as a candidate? An old guy who has never held an actual job in any capacity other than politician. Based on his track record as a politician what has he accomplished? Not exactly a lot (anything) when you compare it against the sitting president. He's not a particularly likable person, seems overly hostile, and if I had to look in the dictionary for picture of "grumpy old man" I wouldn't be shocked to see his picture.

So you take that candidate and then add the socialism, he's now unpalatable to a large portion of the population, who without it may have begrudgingly voted for him because he's not Trump. Even if I don't care for the president as a person, you'd never spot me having a beer with him (even if I were on the same socio-economic level), he's still gotten more done in a positive aspect for me than any other president I've been old enough to vote for. I think a lot of people may dislike his personality, wish he would shut up a bit more on Twitter, etc. yet he's still getting stuff done in a positive direction. That's more than you can say about any other candidate up for election.

Yeah - logic does not apply to Bernie - so you should not analyze him using it.

Anybody that has any knowledge of economics or history is not voting for the guy. Only selfish people who want free stuff, and the ignorant who trust him would ever support the lunatic.

What you don't believe me, I've been saying this for a long time. ANd have threads with this.

What I'm not better than CNN?

The candidate on election day who wins Florida wins the election...period.

Bernie already lost Florida with his Castro talk.

He could win by 10 million. Does not matter. The electoral college is middle and upper middle. They are not voting to hurt themselves for the poor, needy and snot nose filled pissed off.

If Bernie Bros want free healthcare and college it's going to cost you 2 days a month. Join the freakin Reserves. Put down your weed and videos games and join the Reserves. Problem solved. Take it or leave it. Otherwise work at Pet Smart and Home Depot the rest of your lives. Suck it losers.

90% chance if the Bern doesn’t get the nomination that there’s violence In Milwaukee.

I hope he has enough cash to run as 3rd party.

That would be amazing to watch both him and Buttplug get crushed by Trump.

Im not sure if Bernie could work for POTUS but at least he is one of the very few politicians who isn't a sell-out.

During media/pundit discussions about why Bernie is winning, they conclude it's because he's been consistent for 30 years. Everyone from age 18 to age 98 knows where Bernie stands.

Conversely, very few people can name Joe Biden's priorities. Though, he does say the first thing he'll do after being sworn-in, is to increase everyone's income taxes.

You mean Sanders and BIDEN get crushed by Trump. The MSM and Top Dims are once again throwing their weight behind Biden. If Biden wins the South Caroline primary tomorrow, the powers that be, will combine to destroy Sanders.

A Union Electrician told me this week that the Electrical Workers Union told the rank-and-file that a President Bernie would be a disaster for all American workers. Pay cuts and increased taxes would be combined. Families would not be able to handle that combination.

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

The following is my take on a Sanders taking on Trump in the presidential race:

Health care is the election wildcard in the Rust Belt states. I foresee this issue playing out in two ways. Firstly, swing voters conclude inner-city Liberal snobs taxes will fund their health care. For this reason, these voters turn out for Sanders.

Secondly, the Corbyn effect is like a political pie. The electorate, including lifelong Democrat supporters, calculates the impact of Sanders's policies on their finances. Upon working out how potential tax hikes would wipe out their wages and savings, they vote for Trump. Of course, Sanders doesn't bother to disguise the need for tax hikes to pay for his policy planks. I regard this as the most likely outcome of the two scenarios.

There is the following question. Would the U.S. elect a socialist to the presidency? Historically, the answer is no. George McGovern, the Democrats leftward 1972 presidential candidate, lost in a landslide to Nixon. However, the fact Trump, who held no previous political office, was elected four years ago, indicates the old rule book doesn't apply. Stand alone, the answer to this widely mooted question is wide open.

Lastly, Sanders praise for Castro is of no interest to his core supporter base. However, the Hispanic community's disgust at his comments may come into play on election day. Hispanic may stay at home or vote for the GOP. The same goes for people who once lived behind the Iron Curtain, and who are no American Citizens. (Sanders Honeymooned in the Soviet Union).

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

Monty Python ring any bells? Come on, I know you laugh. You laugh, right? This place LOVES to talk about pedo rings but they never talk about the adult victims of those crimes, decades later. Do you think we don't laugh? That we don't watch Ghostbusters?

Please, please, please, for the love of the maker and all that's holy. No matter what they do, or say. No matter what they try to take... Never, ever, even when there is nothing above or below... Look to the light. Never lose it. Never, ever let them in and never stop laughing.

RealClearPolitics.com still has Bernie ahead of Trump and stronger than any other democratic candidate. He also polled significantly stronger against Trump than Hillary did in 2016.

Once again, whoever wins Florida will almost certainly win the election. We have many first time voter registering so they can vote for Bernie, the same can not be said for Trump in Florida.
