Huh... well I guess he found out that the Earth really is flat... at least the part he hit was...

Looks like his chutes came out prematurely.

That's too bad. Looks like he lost his parachute at liftoff. I feel sorry for his family and friends, but just like someone on Twitter said: "Earth may not be flat, but that rocket is now."

I find it pretty hard to have any sympathy for people like that. This was just dumb.

That was pretty brutal though, the last thing that must have been going through his mind, was his ass..

Timothy Treadwell comes to mind.

At least he was doing something he loved.

Too bad the Earth isn't wedge-shaped, then perhaps his rocket could have had a smoother landing.

I'm not actually sure what his stunt was supposed to achieve in a day and age when private companies have their own rockets that regularly go out of the atmosphere.

But even NASA and Roscosmos had their fair share of fatalities.

Condolences to all those who have now lost a loved one.

Why didn't he just walk to the edge wearing a jet pack and jump off the edge. He could have at least had a chance at making it back onto the flat earth.

Clearly he was made an example of!

Well, he proved that the earth is flat and hard by crashing on it.

People chase their beliefs all the time, he probably really enjoyed putting it all together and being able to fly in a rocket. He died doing what he liked, seeking the thrill. I don't feel sorry for him, people die every day chasing their desires. I know guys who got killed on snowmachines and motorcycle, At least they did not die by someone hitting them walking across the street at a cross walk.

Why did people have sympathy for the dare-devil Evil Knievel, but not for dare-devil Mike Hughes? One was a motorcycle stuntman, the other was a rocket stuntman. Both were stuntmen.

Dumb enough to believe the earth is flat yet smart enough to build a rocket.
