The 116th Congress has been wasting our time with their investigations

I started to wonder just how effective the 116th Congress has been when compared to other sessions. At no time in history has a Congress been fully engrossed with removing a sitting president rather than serve their constituents.

They were not elected to impeach Trump which many of them believe. They were elected to get bills passed to benefots us as a country.

Look at the current presidential field and you can see why also. They are not running on a platform. They are hoping for the votes of Trump haters and it will not be enough in the end. Not even if they buy the election again and give the Bern the shaft.

Look at these statistics. There may have been some resolutions agreed upon bit what struck me was Enacted Laws.

114th Congress. This was Obama's last Congress. 329 laws enacted.
115th Congress. This was Trumps First Congress. 443 laws enacted.
116th Congress. This is the Resistance Congress.....115 laws enacted

Now, if you look at how many failed it is in line with previous years but Enacted? They should ALL be removed for doing nothing. 3 of those passed were for commemorative coins...

They are unquestionably useless, but I'm not sure this the correct metric for it.

I think the fewer laws passed the better. We have way too many stupid laws as it is.

I was thinking along the same lines. Just think of how much damage they could have done if they weren't distracted by investigation Trump. It's almost worth it.

Be happy they spent most of there time on the witch hunt instead of stealing more freedoms from us than they have so far.

Been the only good thing about it, even with the huge waste of taxpayers money.

With a bit of luck hopefully the Trump coattails will be long and fruitful for Republicans. The best thing in the world for Democrats would be the current crop be voted out en masse. And a few impeachments when the Republicans take over.

What about the impeachment of James Buchanan, Andrew Johnson, Richard Nixon, and William Clinton, do you imagine that they just said "fair cop" and didn't appeal against the proceedings?

Of course, they all disagreed and Congress spent time dealing with the issues.

It wouldn't be a good look to allow a crook to be the country's President, so that's probably why the houses give it priority.

116th Congress. This is the Resistance Congress.....115 laws enacted

The House itself has passed 400 or so bills. Hard to have legislation enacted when the Republican controlled Senate refuses to even bring most of those to a vote.

Resistance Congress? More like Obstructionist Senate.

The job of the House is not to investigate the president. That is what committees are for. A ton of people doing nada.

The 'passed' legislation is also a lot lower than the past by about 40%.

Except that too many people don't bother reading the ballot or the candidates run unopposed. Pelosi and Schiff are perpetual winners in elections. Why?
