I was in the mood for a little blues rock this Sunday afternoon and came close to choosing Ten Year After's CD, "Live At The Filmore East." Instead, I chose a CD that I haven't listened to in a long time. It was "East-West," by The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, which was recorded back in 1966. I wish I could find a video of their full set at the Newport Folk Festival. I found a snippet of the band performing at that festival, which I posted below, along with a 1979 clip of Butterfield performing with The Band's Rick Danko.

Butterfield was fantastic.
Canned Heat's Alan Wilson was also an incredible harp player.

Bloomfield was a hell of a guitar player too, they complemented each other.
