Yeah I remember the Ebola outbreak, a lot of Americans needlessly panicking, the distrust from those getting treatment. Under the circumstances the Ebola outbreak was handled well... It's hard to treat people who are superstitious and paranoid about the medicine you're giving them to save their life.

Oh and when do China ever play ball? China probably played it the way they did so it looks like it's somewhat cooperating with the rest of the world. Because we would close them down if a pandemic started flooding over it's borders.

Do your research and don't let MSM do it for you. They will hype up any potential disaster especially if you're watching American news. It gets people emotional, angry and distressed... That means more views and a "hot topic" for the people.

S+F! But one question... As compromised as the UN may be, what replaces it? Will countries collaborate in a timely manner without an arbitrator? And won't any replacement for the UN be as vulnerable to systemic faults and corruption.

- UN gross inaction on Cambodia when the Khmer were in power
- UN strong support for genocidal Khmer AFTER they were ousted from power in Cambodia, where MILLIONS were murdered.
- UN gross inaction in Yugoslavia in the 90s - NATO had to step in to do the UN's job
- UN gross incompetence and theft in the Oil-for-food program + Kofi Annan's son stole and was NEVER prosecuted
- UN gross inaction in Rwanda genocide
- UN gross incompetence and inaction in the SARS crisis
- UN gross incompetence and inaction in the ebola crisis + Failure to reform WHO as promised

From an engineering perspective, as a system, that single centralized point is a single point of failure, something to be avoided in any good system design.

The existing decentralized country by country government system works as best as humanly possible.
When there is a large enough REAL crisis, existing government do step up to the plate, whether it is the US providing earthquake relief or NATO getting involved to stop the Yugoslav genocide.

Human societies are composed of self-organizing INDIVIDUALS = we are NOT bees.
Government is NOT your "mommy" and/or "daddy"
More than time for some to grow up the HELL up and start behaving and taking responsibilities like ADULTS

Even the WHO itself admitted it and pledged reforms ( that did not follow through, as usual)

Just an update. Who officials started touring China today. They don't even plan on going to Wuhan.

They're praising Chinese efforts while they don't even go to the epicenter. Looks like theater to me, one designed to keep things low key for the time being.
