I've heard Fleetwood Mac countless times but last night while doing the dishes this came on and it hit me pretty hard.

I totally get it now and it's incredibly deep.

It's about the beautiful disaster we call Love.

One of the best songs ever by far:

"Listen to the wind blow, watch the sun rise
Running in the shadows, damn your love, damn your lies

And if, you don't love me now
You will never love me again
I can still hear you saying
You would never break the chain (Never break the chain)

And if you don't love me now
You will never love me again
I can still hear you saying
You would never break the chain (Never break the chain)

Listen to the wind blow, down comes the night
Running in the shadows, damn your love, damn your lies

Break the silence, damn the dark, damn the light

And if you don't love me now
You will never love me again
I can still hear you saying
You would never break the chain (Never break the chain)

Chain keep us together (running in the shadow)
Chain keep us together (running in the shadow)
Chain keep us together (running in the shadow)
Chain keep us together (running in the shadow)"

Bonus addition:

"Now here you go again, you say
You want your freedom
Well who am I to keep you down
It's only right that you should
Play the way you feel it

But listen carefully to the sound
Of your loneliness
Like a heartbeat drives you mad
In the stillness of remembering what you had
And what you lost, and what you had, and what you lost

Thunder only happens when it's raining
Players only love you when they're playing
Say women they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean, you'll know, you'll know

Now here I go again, I see the crystal visions
I keep my visions to myself, it's only me
Who wants to wrap around your dreams and,
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
Dreams of loneliness,
Like a heartbeat, drives you mad
In the stillness of remembering, what you had,
And what you lost and what you had and what you lost

Thunder only happens when it's raining
Players only love you when they're playing
Women, they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean, you'll know

Thunder only happens when it's raining
Players only love you when they're playing
Say, women, they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean, you'll know
You'll know, you will know, you'll know"

"Rumors" is a phenomenal album...one of the "must haves" for any serious record collection.

So many great albums came out in 1977. Fleetwood Mac's "Rumors," Steely Dan's "Aja," Pink Floyd's "Animals," Eric Clapton's "Slowhand" and The Ramone's "Rocket To Russia."

It was a great period to be a music loving high school student, who was learning how to play bass guitar. The majority of albums in my record collection are from the 70's and they're mostly worn out from constant spins on my turntable.

Great band.Love the chain and the rumors album.
Amazing they existed as a band at all really, considering they didn't speak to each other through most of their glory years.
They would literally sit on their private jet in silence,do a show and rock the whole place down, then get back on the plane and not speak to each other again.
That was all because love and jelousy really(and the coc aine obviously didn't help matters).

Gypsy,Rhianon and seven wonders are my favorite songs, but all their stuff is top tier IMO.
The energy of Mick on the drums and Stevies singing is off the chart.

I think they may have saved my life once when I was ready to throw in the towel due to some horrid life problems..I decided to have one last fleetwood mac binge with a few drinks, and well I am still here so..

The are a timeless classic. It's a shame that the mainstream radio doesn't play music these days like this. This band truly knew how to write and craft a song.

I never got to see them, live, however, I did get to see Stevie Nick's come out and perform with Tom Petty back in 2006 when he and The Heartbreakers headlined Bonnaroo. Hell of a show. Phenomenal weekend.
