At work today we found out that client - hospital group- was waiting for a shipment of gloves, masks and other supplies. The ship was almost to the U. S. and the Chinese government ordered it home so they could have the supplies.

Another case of Corona virus in the Canary Islands. 2nd here and third in all of Spain, let's see if he recovers just like those other two.

He is in Tenerife and he is an Italian coach from Lombardy. He is in quarantine and will repeat the tests tomorrow, they will also hold a press conference.

Will keep you posted.

This one has just been posted on YouTube claiming to be Florence railway station, everyone is in Hazat suits and carting a body away. I hope its just a drill. Its from a cellphone. www.youtube.com...
Also a relative sent a picture of two people in Hazmat suits escorting an elderly person from a car park in Slough in the UK I checked to seeif it had been posted, and came across this one , which says its in the UK now, but it was deleted as not in the public interest ..so it looks like full on censorship is underway. www.youtube.com...

The UK are already saying if you think you have coronavirus then don't go to the hospital or your local GP.
Instead call 111 where they are telling people to self isolate at home. So they are already promoting that as they simply don't have the beds/staff here in the UK to cope.

I suspect that if people are sick enough to think they need to go to the hospital, they aren't going to call ahead for reservations.

When I talked to my folks about this, I told them not to play around with this stuff, but I told them to call ahead, not to wait until they were desperate.

I said to call as soon as they have signs of any possible issue and find out what they should do because if they don't have it, they don't want to go where there may be those who do, and if they do have it, they don't want to go where there may be those who don't, so best to check with the professionals what to do, where to go, when, etc.

One of my relatives works at an animal hospital . They were informed today that certain supplies would not be shipped to them until further notice due to the coronavirus outbreak. Not that th supplies are not available, but that the US govt gets first dibs

Wouldn't know, I am from the Canaries, no idea of how things are in Italy.

The guy was a medical coach so at least he went straight to the emergency room as soon as symptoms arose, hopefully that must have stopped the spread. Better than if he had been, dunno, one of those Italians here on Erasmus I guess.

Looking at the general age of our Parliamentarians you would think they would be best advised to take all protections that are necessary because what happens if they all start going down with it? or perhaps they really are a load of idiots.

I asked our guys to get backup iPhones and Samsung phones to last at least 3 months. Also checked with my vendor for computers - so far, only stock models of Lenovo are difficult to come by at the moment.

Those are cats.
The sort many people love as pets.
Not very funny when you consider they are grabbed round the neck by a metal claw and thrown alive, screaming, into boiling oil. There are videos that I will not post here because they are vile IMO.
I guess you didn't know that so I won't have a go at you for saying the pic was funny.

But on a similar more positive note,China have now banned the import, sale and consumption of all wild animals(hopefully this time permenantly)because the government thinks(or is pretending)that wild animals started the virus.I have my doubts about that, but its certainly a good thing for the massive number of animals who are close to extinction due to the barbaric and cruel chinese trafficing and eating of anything that moves from many countries.

BEIJING, CHINA -- China on Monday declared an immediate and "comprehensive" ban on the trade and consumption of wild animals, a practice believed responsible for the deadly coronavirus outbreak.
The country's top legislative committee approved a proposal "prohibiting the illegal wildlife trade, abolishing the bad habit of overconsumption of wildlife, and effectively protecting the lives and health of the people," state television reported

www.ctvnews.ca...

So at least one positive thing is coming from this virus if not for humans but for animals.
I am hoping the world will rethink globalisation as well,as that is the reason for many of the problems humans face including the virus-all so a few rich people can make more money at the expense of the rest of us.

Apologies if my opinion is controversial to some, but its the way I see it.

hey thanks
Did have to cheer myself up bit this morning. My wife's employment maybe coming to an end this week. (education type)
So I knew from a humor side it was a bit different and I shouldn't have said " funny", but on a serious note, I did have to say "what the heck are those". Now back to the drawing board.
I did post earlier about stuff now going on in Hokkaido, hope you read it.

NEW: WHO says it no longer has a process to declare a pandemic, says old system with 6 phases is no longer being used - Reuters

From BNO NEWS Twitter

So they can't declare a pandemic because of paperwork? Lord have mercy..... Can any organization REALLY be that incompetent?

Remember just a few months after Fukushima the US disabled the online network of west coast radiation detectors, saying it was a wasteful drain on resources to keep them online and nothing had been detected in the X-number of years they'd been online, so there was no need to keep them operating.

So yes, all organizations can be that incompetent. Their existence and continued funding depends on people having faith in them... that faith persists until TSHTF... far too many of those organizations then move the goalposts because, if left where they had been, the organization would be forced to admit they'd tricked everyone AND they'd lose their money.

You know I never thought of what you just posted, but I think this is why the Japanese govt. came clean (have to check my post when that happened), but they came out this time and said what they knew or found out and can happen here in Japan with the virus. In that regards, they regained some trust back.

I keep seeing the Moderators warning about posting certain kinds of things. The trouble is, by the time I get to catch up and read this thread, the comments have been removed and I never know what they were. By not being able to see for myself what rules have been broken and in what way, I'm not really sure what is and what isn't allowed here at the moment. So can the Moderators please give a specific example of what's not allowed here? Or say who exactly keeps posting incorrectly? I don't wish to fall afoul of the rules. I hope this question won't get removed or I get banned. That wouldn't help me at all. But I think it could help lots of other posters here to know for sure what not to do. Thanks!

Honesty goes a long ways, always.
Interesting Article on That I am amazed that China seemingly has a tremendous respect for their government... but that may be more based in fear of openly stating distrust rather than any legitimate trust.
