First, not the mudpit.

If hypothetically the Corona virus becomes as great a problem for the US, as it has proven to be for China, would our political leadership rally behind the president? Or would we see something different?

I'm curious what people think.

Has the flu unified politics? Cancer? Any historic plague? No.

Ha!

Are you serious?

It will be Trump's fault and the Republican's fault. That will be the story the Democrats and their MSM allies scream from the rooftops.

Good point. But I'm talking about a more acute crisis.

Fear is often used to control the people in society. The Dems will make it look like they are with us, the Republicans will say...this is just another bug, don't panic. The Dems will then make the people fear the Republicans are going to dismiss this disease as minor, exploiting every person who dies from it. Republicans won't be dragging people to the hospitals against their will just because they had something go down the wrong pipe at the restaurant, the Democrats will.

If it got a toe hold in the USA it would arise from California and New York due to the population density.

With a few US cities having people pooping on streets and living in squalor, it would spread rapidly with a high death rate.

Those are the places to watch for a major outbreak. It would be uncontrollable.

Nancy's district would be one of the first.

Political climate is one of “Resist” that has been foisted on the public until made a mantra. So quarantine efforts would be hampered in the early stages. This would cause a greater spread versus containment. A more prudent population would see the cities becoming “over ran” by the virus that is “out of control” and take stronger measures of isolation enforcement.

That age old urban versus rural that became political partisanship would come into play. Each one would see the other as responsible as containment was lost in the cities. Morality rates are always connected to level of care. The stain on workers, supplies and just plain “deniers” until later stages would overwhelm healthcare systematically.

Plenty of blame to go around, but not a whole lot of unity. That weakens enforcement policies as well. Reagan’s space aliens analogy sounded good at the time. But we as a nation became far too divided. The aliens are going to win. Even if those aliens are just a virus with harsh symptoms.

It's hard for a political discussion not to be in the mud-pit nowadays. The partisan divide is so deep and wide I think anything requiring a massive government response would destroy the country. Any money spent on helping the non-billionaire citizen would be labeled socialism. We value self-reliance in this country. People are on their own. Government doesn't exist nowadays to help the non-billionaire citizen. Any money spent on help people not die from Coronavirus would be considered redistribution of wealth.

Oh, you mean like "what if this world was threatened by an enemy from outer space would we work together to fight it" or something like that he said.

The only way it would unify our politics would be by elimination everyone, except for one person. That would definitely unify politics.

I doubt it....HIGHLY doubt it. The left are more willing to let themselves, their children and grandchildren, ALLLLL of mankind be killed than have Trump re-elected. Their hatred is unfounded. The economy is good. Life in general is better but they don't care about that. They hate those on the right, they hate our president and they hate this country. They HATE the whole world if those in it don't agree with them politically. They are sick, sick, SICK people.

February 7, 2020

Poll: 64% of New Hampshire Democrats would rather 'A meteor strike the earth and extinguish all human life' than see Trump re-elected.

The triggered left are beyond insanity. This person wants to slash Republicans throats.

This crazy person drives van into Republican voter registration tent.

I don't like sounding negative but....the majority of the anti-Trumpers are themselves hopeless. When one is more willing that all the inhabitants of this planet die rather than an elected official remain in position, there is something so wrong.... I don't think it can be fixed.
