I thought the EU would have done away with that, Brexit or no. I do recall many years ago that France still did do some medical testing on their inmates, but that was years ago.

Even applying some margins for error, the pneumonia % and the R0 is not adding up yet.

Or it’s not being reported. If the r0 is somewhat realistic we should be seeing a multiplier of about 4 for each infected confirmed case in those areas, frankly if someone in a confirmed case, there should be more to follow, but in places that have already been reported cases, like Washington, we hear of no other cases...

Theoretically we can assume, there are allot of cases not being reported. We can also assume, if they are not being reported something is not making sense 3 out of 10 patients are contracting pneumonia roughly... Something is STILL not adding up, it’s bugging me a little. If half of what we are reading is true, it’s going to hit us all at once.... if none of it is true, someone is lying and why would they, when it’s costing them billions a day?

Or again, there is something about conditions in China that are making things different. But since the WHO delegates never left Beijing and most likely never actually looked at any real patients, we won't know.

We know it's spreading through the cruise ship, but again, those are atypical conditions to what most of us experience every day. They are closer to average living conditions in China, especially if the authorities locked you apartment block down.

The R0 has fluctuated depending who what we're seeing and which paper we're looking at. We won't really know what it is until everything is done with and we can get a true accounting of how many actually got it, but overall, it's a bit less important than how this will actually behave once you do get it. If most people get and barely know they have it, it's not a big deal, and it won't be a big deal even if you get some degree of pneumonia out of it (walking pneumonia is a thing).

A lot of people all sick all at once with something almost all of them barely know they have isn't that big a deal, but we don't know if that's what will happen. We also don't know for sure how many will get seriously ill out of it for sure, how many of those who do will then die.

Right, so the setting now about a month later, is looking like a over reaction. Perhaps it does have to do with the environmental conditions, because let’s just assume the r0 is between 2-4 there are more cases out there not being reported. Just strange, definitely keeping an eye on it, good chat.
