Just saw this pop up on Twitter but the TMZ link has now been taken down.

Twitter

TMZ Link

Haven't been able to confirm the story yet.....could be false.

TMZ original story said this:

Kobe was traveling with at least 3 other people in his private helicopter when it went down. A fire broke out. Emergency personnel responded, but nobody on board survived. 5 people are confirmed dead. We’re told Vanessa Bryant was not among those on board.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Kobe has famously used a helicopter to travel for years — dating back to when he played for the Lakers. He was known for commuting from Newport Beach, CA to the STAPLES Center in DTLA in his Sikorsky S-76 chopper.
KB is survived by his wife Vanessa, and their four daughters — Gianna, Natalia and Bianca and their newborn Capri.

Been following this story since it broke. There are no survivers..RIP.

Update:

There were no survivors after a helicopter crashed on a hillside in the Calabasas area on Sunday morning, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Officials believe there may have been multiple fatalities, Fire Capt. Tony Imbrenda said.

TMZ's link is up and looks legit, as does going to the site directly -- it's front page.

Sad for his family, especially the kids

Other outlets reporting it now.

Didnt like the man as he lacked personal integrity but he probably is the NBA GOAT and from accounts a good teamwork type player.

RIP.

Not going to miss any sleep over this. I'm sure we'll get a media flood of tired agenda pushing and a week of over the top mourning. I'd call it karma, but hey, OJ's still with us. Wake me up when MJ passes. RIP Kobe.

Man this is weird. I was just reading how LeBron just passed him in all-time NBA scoring. Hope it's not true!!!!

This cuts me deep.

No more Black Mamba. No more Kobe Brain. No more Kobe. That's just basketball. Not talking his investment arm and other ventures. Detail on ESPN.

Fan of the NBA and my brother called me up to tell me the news, it's like that.

That was my first thought too .

I could imagine going down in a helicopter .

Feeling of fear and helplessness of your situation.

But could you imagine going down with your children?

Looking them in the eye and feeling their fear and helplessness while blaming yourself .

I sure wouldn’t want that to be the last 15 seconds of my life .

It even hurts when I think about it .

Sad, 41 years old is to young to leave this earth. Rip Kobe, and condolences to his family and all those involved.
