Then you most definitely would hate me.
I have a tendency to say exactly what is on my mind and exactly how it is.
No "punches" pulled.
And to hell with being "PC"

Evidently I miscommunicated.

I LOVE that TRUMP tells it like it is. I even love a lot (not all) of his brashness. Certainly love his candor & being genuinely TRUMP.

Some of his shallow flipness I don't enjoy. Some.

Trump is an ass.

But he gets the job done, much more so than any other President in my life.

I don't have to like him personally... I honestly don't care.

It's not like I have to hang out with him on a personal level.

I have to ask though...

Why do you not put any blame on the Democratic party for the division in our country right now?

As a former Democrat all I can see is that particular party trying to tear our country apart just to try to stay in power.

They have already shown by word and deed that they care more for illegal immigrants than our own citizens.

They have shown that if we tank economically they would welcome it.

They no longer represent the majority of America.

So why no real blame there for our fractured nation?

I do place blame on the Democratic party. I place more on Trump because he is the leader. He has the biggest, most influential, platform.

Both parties are doing everything they can to stay in power and it is disgusting. I have no love for either side.

To say that one side has so much love for illegal immigrants is nonsense. It's playing to a love of humanity. It's a stirring of emotionality.

It's bupkus.

America is great. It will continue to be great. Immigrants and all. If you are worried about illegality...look to our President because he is up to it.

Your clarification helped a little.

My responses to your other post still strike me as mostly fitting.

LOL so you are describing all politicians. Trump demagogues but he delivers unlike anybody else. You might not like his character but it works. He is only using Democrats divisiveness against them. People are just mad because he has millions of followers on twitter and Facebook with a microphone as big as the left, and he is better at the Democrats own game.

Republicans normally coward away from the leftists onslaught and look what that gave us, Obama.

So when Trump came on the seen and stood tall and delivered his views with pride. He took down anyone who attacked him. He doesn't attack people for no reason. He is a counter puncher which is justified. They deserve it.

If you want a priest for president then good luck. THose type would be eaten and chew and spit out by these crop of politicians.

Trump is the best man for the job, he is actually getting sh17 done and exposing the corrupt deep state. What more can u ask for. Pete??? hahaha the poor fellow couldn't run his city, let alone a country when he would need to deal with dictators all around the world. U really think he can negotiate like Trump? The dude is in the wrong business, unless his business is like everyone else, get elected and get rich off from tax payers.

You need a real leader. If you were to go into battle with another nation, would you want Trump at the helm, a man's man or little weak Pete leading the charge.

Trump is gift from God, embrace your great fortune that he is running the USA. Not merkle, not Justin, not Pete. hahaah

Our economy is the best in the world at a time everyone else is doing poor. U are lucky to have him, so act like it.

We don't live in a democracy, we live in a republic. There's a difference.

As far as Trump goes, he reversed a lot of Obama's stifling regulations and restrictions on business which helped our economy grow. I don't see where those actions destroyed our water, land or air and the historically low unemployment for minorities and best economy in decades is a really good sign that he was right. The trade deals he said were coming are here. The national security he talked about improving has greatly improved.

I know Dems don't like any of what's going on and they want to go back to the crap we were dealing with prior to 2017, but that's because they wouldn't know their heads from their asses on a good day.

It's a republic. Yes. And Trump has reversed many of Obama's regulations. Thing is...the next president will do just the same. Trump is accomplishing nothing other than temporary nonsense.

Whether this year or 4 years (more likely) from now...this will all repeat and be undone.

Can we get a president who can make some permanent changes? Trump is not him.

Very well, what are your thoughts on how to affect large scale irreversible changes? When speaking with as much passion, as your post had, clearly you have some thoughts on how it could be accomplished. So please share.

If Trump could do what he is doing without all the divisiveness.

That is hilarious - seeing as it is not Trump causing the divisiveness, it is the rabid TDS sufferers doing that.

If he could just shut up and do what he is doing...I'd support him.

I love that he fights back. Been waiting for someone with backbone for years.

Is a smart Republican too much to ask for? Trump is no messiah. He isn't God. He isn't the chosen one.

No one says he is - except rabid TDS sufferers making false claims that his supporters feel that way about him.

Can we not have an intelligent Republican? Someone who says what he means and does what he says? Someone who loves the country more than himself?

You already have one - in Trump.

And the fact that he loves America more than himself says a lot - seeing as how he loves himself so much (but - what is wrong with that?)...

I guess not.

Take the blinders off. Your guess is not only wrong, your wish is already fulfilled. You have simply chosen not to see it.

Most of my leaning are pretty close to the old blue dog democrats and they have gone extinct at the national level.

Because no criticism is ever accepted I'm gonna have to say this is like a cult here worshipping a person.

I challenge any Trump supporter to point out one single thing they don't like about him - problem is you can't because he's beyond reproach now due to the Dem's witch hunts. So you feel obligated to protect the Admin at every last turn. This is how cult worship forms. Same thing happened to Obama's followers, they can't find it in them to criticize dear leader.... Ever.

You realize this same thing has been said many times on these forums and all it does is show you are completely out of touch with reality.

There is no cult of trump. Nobody thinks he is flawless and does no wrong. You would have to be deaf dumb and blind not to see he is flawed.

As I said before I vote based on actions, and track record, not someone’s style or ability to charm.
This is a good lesson for life by the way, people lie, Thier actions don’t.
Respect.

Democrats illegally spied and them and the MSM have been lying non stop for years but Trump is the divisive one when he actually tried to initially work with Democrats and they refused.

You call yourself libertarian yet like Bernie who is the complete opposite.

You're blaming Trump for the divisiveness? Really?

Just out of curiosity, how old are you?

The reason I ask is because perhaps you're not old enough to clearly remember the election of 2000, and the whole Florida ballot ordeal. The uber divisiveness we have today was born then.

Until then there was always a divide, but there was also civility and compromise. It wasn't Until Bush beat Gore than the left went off the rails starting the hyper partisanship we have today.

Once Obama was elected, it was the right's turn to give as good as they got, and now here we are.

But to blame Republicans for it? Laughable.

The OP reeks of the one thing which is TRULY responsible for all the animosity in the country. Simply people ignorant of politics being convinced they have a firm grasp of what is going on and the rudimentary knowledge at least if not all the pertinent information and history it takes to accurately form an opinion on a given topic when in reality, they have a simpleton's understanding at best.

Bush was meh, just ok but Trump is the worst it can get?!?! Ok so already i know youre someone who sees things as if thr lesser evil being lying to the nation about stockpiles of hydrogen bombs and smallpox briefcases when it is known malarkey for the sole purpose of augmenting the fear after a tragedy you knew was coming and that your brother tripled his insurance on September 10th ona building he owned then brought it down with a demolition crew as it wasnt even hit in the attack so we would support a war with any nation of Muslims he chose leading to four or so wars, one alone killing just shy of TWO MILLION innocent Iraqis and countless American children fresh out of high school. The greater evil is Trump being buffoonishly outspoken on a social media site in your opinion, in mine a hilarious guy proving our Republic allows for more than just nepotistic trustfund dingbats to be president and as a lifelong BLUE voter, ive never seen a president who cares so LITTLE about himself and so MUCH about the country that he knows and i think we all do that this next one will cost him his LIFE and he still pushes forward with his promises. I think you also need to understand what the President is because he is merely head of state. You think he has executive license and not the banking families then pffft. Ha.

Lifelong RED voter but yea bernie Is purdy kewl eh? ahhh! A millennial! Gotcha. Ok, your grasp of economics is like the big loud socialist kids and the cricket chirping you hear when u ask one, "what is socialism?"

I had two more very good points but im being called away dammit. Stop disrespecting a president cuz its in, stop imagining the president is the same as an absolutist monarch, and rethink your priorities and political leanings before getting too loud. Back in the day when people said things not by meme but through age-old proverbs, idioms, etc., "its better to keep quiet and look a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

As an Independent I'm not really a Trump supporter, but I am leaning towards voting for him unless something changes.

I'll happily say bad things. He's crass, a bully and a caricature at times. He's wrong to not deal with making it easier for immigrants at the same time he's making the border more secure. He comes across as an absolute idiot at times.

He is however, the lesser of two evils.

I'd ask you point blank, do you really think the cultist nature of Hillary supporters, Bernie supporters and Warren supporters is any less bad. Or are you blind to it? Both parties are in fact cults with blind followers. Neither is any better than the other in that regard. To say otherwise is very dishonest.

I've said on ATS over 100 times since 2016 that Id take Trump over Hillary any day.

I'm just concerned with the blind faith cult mentality going on. It's nothing new, people followed Obama blindly too so it is normal.

I guess not.

What has Trump done that comes even close to the bad crap Obama and Bush did? If you are upset he has no filter and anything that pops into his head he vomits out I can agree with you that it is not helping anything, BUT he is not a professional lifelong politician. We voted on that alone and that is what we got to shake it all up and that is exactly what he has done and now you are complaining.

He is like the only President that has felt it is his responsibility to work through his campaign promises checking them off one by one, so I think it is safe to say he does do what he says.

We know they exist, no human is perfect and other than a status report, why point and dwell on them?

As for cults, you don't know what you're talking about.

I definitely know what I'm talking about.

Actions can easily lie, it's called a ruse.

Seems to be.

My political alliances are strongly on the Republican side. More Libertarian but...that's not a winner. The Democratic field this election year is garbage. Almost as bad as Hillary. I like Pete but he will never win. Bernie is ok but he is near to death. Amy Klobuchar is the best but she too, stands no chance.

I'm 90% certain Trump will win re-election. I can't understand why other than our much better 401k's. I feel he is great for our economy at the expense of ruining our democracy.

If Trump could do what he is doing without all the divisiveness. If he could just shut up and do what he is doing...I'd support him.

Is a smart Republican too much to ask for? Trump is no messiah. He isn't God. He isn't the chosen one.

I've voted red all my life until Trump. Now I vote out of spite. That's what he has gotten me, and a lot of our country.

I can't tolerate a liar and idiot representing me. I thought Bush was bad, and I voted for him, but I had no idea how bad it could be until Trump.

It's a bit much to respond to. The Trump love here is overwhelming.

But the basics: Yes I do blame Trump for the divisiveness. He stokes that flame every chance he gets.

And to those saying he has backbone and "hits back", he's a counter-puncher...B.S. He is the whiniest person I've ever seen. If he had a backbone none of the attacks against him would phase him at all.
