I have met many people in meetings of several people. If I was asked if I knew most of them, I'd say no.

The President has literally met thousands of people in the last 3 years - including stopping to have conversations with police and servicemen - taking photos, etc, or giving rides on Air Force One. He'll actually 'know' very few of them.

No, you don't know. Those sweeps detect EM radiation, such as that produced when a recording device is communicating with a storage device. They cannot detect when the same device is being used for recording and storage.
