People have already been racing to develop one for this ever since the DNA for it was passed out.

Profit aside, how can you look at China and not see that it would be stupid not to race to try to develop something.

It's like the race to find a cure for their swine disease, if that stuff ever got into the rest of the global food chain, it would wreak havoc. No one with any ability to try is *not* attempting to find an answer.

One case in Viet Nam had no travel history but was in contact with a confirmed case (his father with travel history to Wuhan), resulting from human to human transmission within a family.

The numbers and reports being put out by the Chinese are not matching up. They claim there is some 3,000 cases nationwide and yet also report the hospitals in Wuhan (ground zero) are overrun and packed to the gills. People having to wait in the corridors sometimes for days. There are over 40,000 hospital beds in Wuhan. Think about that. Either the reports of only 3,000 cases is grossly under reported, or the Chinese hospitals are pulling people who don't have the Coronavirus in hospital beds. Which of those is more likely?

If human to human starts occuring in large numbers outside China this thing moves toward global epidemic. Its still wait and see how many are infected and not showing symptoms - who have never been to wuhan/china

they are not very forthcoming about the situation. my daughter lives in toronto and i live just outside in the suburbs.

When we see it occurring in large numbers, I fear it will be too late. The governments in countries where there are cases need to come out with guidelines for the population to follow.... right now.
If we wait until there are a lot of cases, far too many will have been infected.

When we see it occurring in large numbers, I fear it will be too late. The governments in countries where there are cases need to come out with guidelines for the population to follow.

I said to some coworkers this morning that the genie is out of the bottle at this point. People are incubating the disease around the world. The next 7-10 days will be very revealing.
