I think I just said as much? When I mentioned the global spread doesn't match up with the 2 week incubation period & prediction of big numbers. Because those big numbers aren't there globally.

Reading on WeChat again just now and leaking to Twitter,

Shenzhen no one allowed outside without masks
Shenzhen into lockdown (rumor)
Hong Kong up to 9 cases
India has 5 cases under investigation
Philippines asking people to not spread rumors, confirmed 1 case under investigation

I really hope it’s not in Manila in Makati area, that would be a serious disaster. Makati is next to and part of red light district with go-go bars full of scantily clad prostitutes and many streets of dancing clubs and restaurants. Rich Chinese guys frequent that area as well as many types of foreign tourists.

Just came across a tweet from a doctor...seems it is worse then we know. China has shutdown social media, it is illegal to communicate.

Here's a message from Capt Planet on Twitter who says in the time leading up to Chinese NY, millions left Wuhan. He says the symptoms are not as they say, people are dying w/o symptoms:

in 10 days, IF we see dramatic spikes in numbers in cities outside China, where an infected Wuhan traveller arrived... What would the most obvious response be?

Area quarantine, none in or out

Why wouldnt a full quarantine of every man women and child indoors for 2-3 month - contain this?

Depends on how its transferred and how long it can last without a host.

Infected people can die and no one else new gets infected. You'd obviously need significant government, army resources to decontaminate and remove bodies.. a lengthy process

Thats supposing it cant be transfered from a dead host to someone else, there are plenty that can

So, it might be worth while buying enough canned food and water for 60days.. 2 months..

Thats exactly what we did today,l we shored up our lacking supplies and water, got everything ready to shelter in place.

yeah, after finding every shop sold out of facemasks.. i might start watching shopping centre shelves.
if items start running out, im going all out and filling a shopping cart.

thankfully, I work next to 2 major shops so its easy to keep an eye on them

Malaysia just confirmed case #4, all cases from same family which traveled to Wuhan.

And they traveled to Malaysia via Singapore.

I found mine at home improvement store in the paint section. The 3M N95 masks for painting and sanding are same ones sold for Flu.

Please realize that what you post might end up affecting peoples lives. Go and get your N95, N99, N100 masks people. The virus may be smaller than .3 microns but its typically always attached to particles that are much larger. its better than nothing!

Are N95 Masks Really Effective against the flu?
A little online research will reveal that the flu virus is .17 microns in size. Clearly smaller than even N100 masks can filter out. However, it is critical to understand that the flu virus does not float in the air by itself. The flu virus is transported from patient to patient on droplets of excretions from sneezing and coughing. These particles are typically 5 microns or larger. When a sick patient wears a respirator, the respirator can be very effective at preventing infectious material from leaving the patients body, and when worn by healthy individuals, it prevents inhalation of said material. More importantly, wearing a mask is a excellent way of preventing the user from rubbing or touching their mouth or nose, which is a very high risk factor. At the end of the day will an N95 mask guarantee to protect you from the Flu? No. But it can substantially reduce your risk or receiving or transmitting the disease.

I really want to believe all these reports that the number infected is way higer and that people are dying in the streets.

The thing holding me back from believing it...

...Is journalists here in the US and people on Twitter here thrive off of having big sensationalist stories and breaking them first.

Yet the US media is barely covering this. Youd think they would be all over these videos and claims coming out of China.

Sure you can control major news outlets, but you cant control Twitter... plus.. plenty of people can get around the countries blocks

Common masks are not to keep from GETTING sick, they are to keep those who might be sick from spreading it through cough, sneeze, etc
