So when we trained up for ebola a few years ago, yes the use of an adult diaper or a condom cath was pitched.

Why? Cause the gear took 30 minutes to put on and 45+ with 3 people to take off. Shifts in patient rooms were projected to be 12-16 hours at a time or longer. In addition traditional roles were set aside as it was all hands on so MD's would be expected to do nursing work and vice versa

Yes, that's what I meant. In order to happen would take Martial Law unlike commy China which is always in some state of Martial Law.

Uh, no. If by some amazing miracle that report was true, it would be an absolute smoking gun that this was all intentional and China did actually release this pox onto the world straight from their lab. I read a report direct from the CDC yesterday that said, absolute best case scenario for ANY new virus and assuming massive cooperation between countries and plentiful resources put into the process, 3 months from positive identification to the initialization of trial vaccines, another 6 months for refinement of the vaccine, then a minimum of 3-6 months for large scale production of the vaccine. He literally said that effective vaccination against any newly found virus is an impossibility in less than 12 months' time.

I'm not seeing a difference here, man, and I'm as anti-socialist/communist an individual as you're going to find. In China, Xi has the power to lock down the country and each province's head has the power to lock down their province. In the USA, the President has the power to declare martial law for the nation and each governor has the power to declare martial law for their state. It's what China's doing only with an additional step that ultimately is meaningless when trying to contrast the two. If you think this would play out any differently in the US, if you think our Constitution would magically save us from tyranny, take a long hard look at New Orleans after Katrina hit.

Burd that time frame is super optimistic too. and that is predicated by them not doing the usual exhaustive testing before they start giving it to people.

And as you said, martial law is a given. People melt down when the electricity goes out for more than an hour. Add to that the threat of death and yikes

Another key thing to think about.

They are building in a frenzy multiple thousand bed medical units, and quarantied 65 million people over 26 deaths?

Does that not compute to anyone else?

That would be like quarantining ALL of south Africa, THE WHOLE THING, when the Ebola outbreak happened, we didnt and there were VASTLY more deaths.

Were being lied to, something isnt right

Researchers now say first infection was Dec 1 and did NOT come from seafood market.

Zerohedge

On WeChat we are reading that Beijing is sealing off roads in and out of city.

Also this is how they are manipulating numbers which includes more accurate forecasting

Zerohedge

So no matter who tells the truth (if any) the numbers are wrong and lower than actual.

Yep we are not being told the truth. School starts here next week,we have Chinese students coming back from China.
Now I'm seeing why our piss poor prime Minister took our guns away. She is getting shet flung at her for not doing anything about this situation from other MPs,and is just plodding along as usual.
I've never been a doom prepper,I'm an invalid with bugger all money, but this coming shopping day I'm stocking up on dry foods for my family. It takes alot to get me worried, and I mean ALOT....I'm starting to worry.

You know what happend to those passengers? There's this complex of medical research facilities

But no hospital to quarantine them.
Your years of knowledge in the field as well as knowing what's there is good for this thread.

I'm a bloke,but no worries

I can't afford masks,so.im thinking of taking a risk and not paying rent this week to buy a heap of them, and a heap of food, canned and dried. We live 2km from the Tasman sea,so I can suppliment stocks with fish and shellfish, lots of live stock around if it gets really bad and I need to barter. I'm also thinking of keeping my kids out of school until I see how our govt handles this situation.

Thanks Bigburgh!

Yes Genentech is right by the airport, but they are a biotech company.

Patients would be sent to:

Stanford University
San Mateo General
UCSF
Highland
Santa Clara Valley Medical Center
SF General
CPMC

That being said there are a finite number of rooms that contain the required isolation / HEPA filtration that exhausts to the outside not into the back fo the hospital.

I think of the peds side we have at most 10 beds that can be used for this. Assuming and thats a big assumption that there are 20 per hospital we are looking at 180 in in the Bay Area if none are being used.

A 777-300ER carries almost 400 PAX plus crew. There would not be enough isolation beds if they were all sick.

So basically 400+ potential carriers just hoped off a plane and are wandering among us.

from the CDC

Airborne Precautions prevent transmission of infectious agents that remain infectious over long distances when suspended in the air (e.g., rubeola virus [measles], varicella virus [chickenpox], M. tuberculosis, and possibly SARS-CoV) as described in I.B.3.c and Appendix A. The preferred placement for patients who require Airborne Precautions is in an airborne infection isolation room (AIIR). An AIIR is a single-patient room that is equipped with special air handling and ventilation capacity that meet the American Institute of Architects/Facility Guidelines Institute (AIA/FGI) standards for AIIRs (i.e., monitored negative pressure relative to the surrounding area, 12 air exchanges per hour for new construction and renovation and 6 air exchanges per hour for existing facilities, air exhausted directly to the outside or recirculated through HEPA filtration before return).12, 13 Some states require the availability of such rooms in hospitals, emergency departments, and nursing homes that care for patients with M. tuberculosis. A respiratory protection program that includes education about use of respirators, fit-testing, and user seal checks is required in any facility with AIIRs. In settings where Airborne Precautions cannot be implemented due to limited engineering resources (e.g., physician offices), masking the patient, placing the patient in a private room (e.g., office examination room) with the door closed, and providing N95 or higher level respirators or masks if respirators are not available for healthcare personnel will reduce the likelihood of airborne transmission until the patient is either transferred to a facility with an AIIR or returned to the home environment, as deemed medically appropriate. Healthcare personnel caring for patients on Airborne Precautions wear a mask or respirator, depending on the disease-specific recommendations (Respiratory Protection II.E.4, Table 2, and Appendix A), that is donned prior to room entry. Whenever possible, non-immune HCWs should not care for patients with vaccine-preventable airborne diseases (e.g., measles, chickenpox, and smallpox).www.cdc.gov...
