It is behind the curve, but I am still sceptical about the numbers. The serious, critical and suspected stats are all rising faster than confirmed infected.

Maybe they have just reached the peak of how many they can diagnose in a day?

This has to be the case.

The death toll certainly looks like it will continue to rise exponentially. The percentage of serious or critical cases in Hubei province is around 18%. Surely that suggests they are unable to test all of those infected. Either that or the virus is becoming deadlier.

Hubei province
(including Wuhan) 7,153 956 serious, 338 critical

Scientist Explains New Study Revealing Coronavirus May Have Links to HIV

nationalfile.com...

''Epidemiologist and public health scientist Dr. Eric Feigl-Ding took to Twitter to explain a new study that claims to have found a link between the novel Chinese coronavirus and HIV/AIDS.

The study, which comes from Biorxiv, is titled “Uncanny similarity of unique inserts in the 2019-nCoV spike protein to HIV-1 gp120 and Gag.”''

Dr Feigl-Ding did take to twitter, but his conclusion of the paper was that the study was "Bat S***" crazy. Subsequent other scientists have agreed with him.

Yeah.
Has anyone mentioned that coronovirus is not a retrovirus? For starters.

But let's spread fear and ignorance. It's what the internet was made for. Right?

The problem in China is 60 million have been left to their own devices no updates,no public education,no anything so of
course panic is setting in,civil disturbance, disrespect of authorities, anger, fear is starting to cause severe cracks and thats
far deadlier than any bug.

I actually agree with the views being expressed here - but just a tidbit that from what I read the idea is that it just uses the same protein mechanism as HIV to lock onto and bind to a cell in order to infect, not that the HIV retrovirus and the coronavirus are both the same types of viruses.

Do any other virii use that mechanism? Is it unique to HIV (and this version of coronovirus)?

That's a great question, and outside of my expertise unfortunately.

Would be interesting to know for sure.

Edit: looks like coronaviruses in general use the same mechanism as HIV and hence why both lopinavir and ritonavir have been used as part of the treatment plans.

The combination targets protease, an enzyme used by both HIV and coronaviruses to cut up proteins when they make new copies of themselves. (A spokesperson for the biopharmaceutical company Abbvie tells Science Insider it has donated $2 million worth of the combo, which it markets under the brand name Aluvia, to the Chinese government.)

Russia has named the same drugs as their treatment plan Source (in Russian)

This guy claims to know something about it.

There is nothing remarkable about the fact that 2019-nCoV’s sequence diverges from its nearest known relative, or that its unique sequences are conserved among cases of 2019-nCoV.

The sequence matches with HIV are very short and appear in hypervariable regions of both virus, and similar overlaps are seen between 2019-nCoV sequences and many other organisms.

The unique biological properties that HIV sequences could theoretically impart to another virus are completely missing from 2019-nCoV, and 2019-nCoV has no unique clinical properties that are outside what is known to be possible for a coronavirus.

theprepared.com...

The noise about a relationship to HIV is just that.

‘Skunkworks’ at Johnson & Johnson is rushing to develop a coronavirus vaccine

The chief scientific officer at Johnson & Johnson said the company began work two weeks ago on a vaccine to battle the deadly coronavirus outbreak centered in China.

Late last week, he spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, about the emerging coronavirus threat.

“The HIV protease inhibitors may be active on coronavirus,” he said. “The Chinese government already has asked for access to these medicines, but we need to prove that they work. That could be a few days to a few weeks.”

Lockheed 'SkunkWorks' is where they do all the insane ultra-secret tech no one knows about...
Are they saying Johnson & Johnson, medical and pharmaceutical company, has a SkunkWorks...? 😲👀

Coronavirus

Why would this be worth noting?

Three of the last four companies I worked for had a SkunkWorks including at least one that actually called it just that.

That was in the entertainment, Healthcare and Defense verticles.

Yeah. Good idea to keep a handle on it.

I think that traveling to China or coming into contact with someone who has done so recently is a bad idea.

It seems that the Chinese government learned something from the SARS thing. I think that officials in Wuhan are going to be looking for new work. Or maybe not, in prison you don't really have to look for work.

* Someone sent this to me, I havnt checked it so it could be absolute bs or have some merit to it. *

In 2004, the CDC filed a patent on a newly isolated coronavirus known as SARS. It expired on January 24, 2020 -- pure coincidence given the timing of this media outbreak I'm sure.

In 2015, the Pirbright Institute filed a patent for a live attenuated coronavirus to be used in the production of vaccines. The Pirbright Institute is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and recently received $5.5 million dollars to do what they do. They were "coincidentally chosen" to create the vaccine behind this current outbreak.

They will be partnering with Inovio Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation) to create said vaccine. This company brought you the zika quackxine in a record-breaking 7 months (run ... just ... run).

Inovio Pharmaceuticals will be partnering with Wistar (funded by Bill and Melinda Gates), GeneOne (funded by Bill and Melinda Gates and sponsored by the US FDA) and Twist Biosciences (funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation). If the Wistar Institute sounds familiar, it should. This is the company that produced the WI-38 cell line derived from the "too many to count" aborted fetuses in the vaccines injected into your children.

October 18 2019. Event 201 is a high-level pandemic exercise hosted by the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in partnership with the World Economic Forum and none other than the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

This is extremely fascinating because this pandemic simulation exercise of coronavirus took place about 6 weeks before the first illness from the coronavirus was actually reported in Wuhan China!

That is one hell of a coincidence if you believe in that sort of thing. Another fascinating connection, is the fact that not only did the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation participate in and help set up the pandemic simulation of a coronavirus outbreak, but they just so happen to fund the group who owns the patent to the deadly coronavirus and are already working on a vaccine to solve the current crisis. Again an incredible coincidence…

All this and the perfect timing of Netflix's new PANDEMIC documentary, how convenient, just another coincidence?

AND LASTLY, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus Director-General for the World Health Organization (WHO) was a top Executive and Central Committee member of the Tigray People Liberation Front (TPLF), which is a political party in Tigray, Ethiopia, and is a Global blacklisted terrorist organisation. Now this is the guy looking after the worlds health

You would be correct and yes that does seem to be bogus so the rest of it is most likely too.

The Thai news is saying they have confirmed person to person transmission. A taxi driver is the latest to come down with the virus; he had not been out of country.. That brings the total to 19 as of today 2/1/2020. The interesting part of this is "He is a Taxi Driver" so you have to wonder how many others he carried while he was shedding the virus. Since the taxi drivers routinely load and unload your luggage .... well you get the picture, no doubt..

Back to the luggage thingy... Maybe he loaded an infected persons luggage and then wiped his face with his hands ? Since the Chinese bring in just about 1.2 billion pounds in tourism (English dollars) the government is loath to piss them off in anyway.
