It looks like we are going to go another few days before we have our first confirmed case here in NZ...

It really is only a matter of time though.

The NZ media still seem to be playing it down too. It hasn't been leading the news and there has been plenty of these sorts of articles, which don't really seem relevant...

Husband had to entertain Chinese VIPs toward the middle to last third of December.

They were all over the company and he brought home some kind of persistent mild to moderate respiratory thing after that. We've all three been through it, and it lingered in my chest like a weight for a few weeks right up until sometime last week. None of us really got seriously ill though, but you can't say you had it because you just don't know.

Obviously, the only way to know would be to get tested for antibodies, and if we don't do that, then we can't assume we've been through it already.

See thats what I mean - nothing crazy, just that it may already be here spreading around and people just assume it's the flu and go on their way.

The CCP will do anything to stay in power.

Sacrificing a few cities to maintain control is perfectly in line with their cultural revolution norm killing over 40 million people.

Releasing the virus intentionally is something I strongly doubt they would do. The economic damage alone endangers the regime not to mention the social unrest we are seeing before our eyes.

This could in fact be a black swan event for the CCP.

WoW, that is a very interesting life story you have. I have mixed feelings on vaccines. I got shot up with experimental 'vaccines' back in late 80s to 91. 3 out of every 4 ended up with bad side effects. Apparently I got lucky.
I don't knock others but I don't promote it either. More or less neutral simply because I know so little about that field of research.

It's my husband's career.

He almost had to go to Bethesda to get vaccinated with some interesting things at one point to enable him to work in the lab they have on-site, but it was decided he wouldn't need it at the last second.

He gets calls from the local blood bank because he has a rarer blood type combined with an unusual mix of anti-bodies, so he's popular when they have a kid who needs extra due to an immunocompromised state. He's even been vaccinated against rabies although that one has run its course.

He tells me all kinds of stuff, and I tend to recall all sorts of useless information. I'm a sponge that way. But I have asked him to vet some of what I've been saying on this thread. He knows way more than I do on the subject for sure.

I think at this point everyone knows China covered this one up as best they could. WHO knows? Maybe they have decided to start coming clean under the table, but by now they probably don't really know the true extent of things, either.

The chief scientific officer at Johnson & Johnson said the company began work two weeks ago on a vaccine to battle the deadly coronavirus outbreak centered in China.

Late last week, he spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, about the emerging coronavirus threat.

“The HIV protease inhibitors may be active on coronavirus,” he said. “The Chinese government already has asked for access to these medicines, but we need to prove that they work. That could be a few days to a few weeks.”

Husband just said his gut tells him that because they have this sequenced already, they already knew about this strain. As far as he knows, it takes at least a couple months to do that, but they seem to have already had that information on hand to pass out.

That's a bit suspicious to him given this outbreak has been going on about that long ... it just seems fast to have it all hammered out already.

Our medical community and social structure is a lot more open with talking about these problems. We do not interrogate, fine and lock up members of our community for talking about current medical issues.

Our government will probably move slow with too little too late. Sounds like it is already too late for our large metropolitan areas with the virus already spread. Now we are just waiting a week or two for the symptoms to start kicking in. In 6 to 8 weeks we will all be Wuhan.

I made a post of him. He is a laughing bought out stock here in Japan. No one trust a word coming out of his mouth. A few things to check up on him and one would be the immigration policy of his country for the Chinese people.
