U.S. Plans to Evacuate Citizens From Epidemic-Stricken Chinese City

The U.S. government is arranging a charter flight Sunday to evacuate its citizens and diplomats from the epidemic-stricken Chinese city of Wuhan to the U.S., a person familiar with the operation said........Roughly 1,000 American citizens are thought to be in Wuhan, and the U.S. consulate there is reaching out to the ones it knows about to offer them a seat on the plane, the person familiar with the matter said.

The plane seats around 230 people, and will include diplomats from the U.S. consulate as well as Americans and their families. Those evacuated will be responsible for the cost, the person added.....

1000 people and 230 seats ... I pray that those left behind stay strong and healthy... I'd imagine a lot of tough decisions are going to play out.. Godspeed

Yeah, those are under observation but not confirmed to have the virus!

I worked for GM Corporate Purchasing and I was assigned to China Shanghai Vehicle Assembly Operations as part of a 4+ year Black Project assignment with General Motors well over a decade ago. Initially I accepted but then resigned and left GM. The Chinese said that we could not take any money earned in China and saved with us back to America at the end of the assignment. It must remain in China. So we were told to launder it through Hong Kong by some guy whom we perceived was a US INTEL spook who was headquartered in Turkey. Yea, sure, right. I am out.

The food over there is not that great. Some hotels are "Westernized" for tourists. That food is excellent. McDonald's is a favorite staple for non Chinese visitors.

2 confirmed infections now here (Japan).

China Airlines landed 2 planes with tourist that were allowed in country. Temp screens are all in place at the international airports here and cruise ports.
Monday when millions will be on the subways is big concern. For the most part, calm. At least NHK is not beating around the bush on this. And other news station are not holding back either.

The United States announced its first infection with 2019-nCoV detected in a traveler returning from Wuhan on January 21, 2020.

If panic in the States, well, it will be much different then in Asia. Best to be prepared . Transportation of goods can be disrupted.
When China seals off cities, ITS BAD.
For those in America, wake up fast. Panic is no joke. Americans are NOT a well behave society . At least not in the cities. Remember the riots in LA years ago.

The few videos of people crashed out on the sidewalks, are they real? My few Chinese friends have no comment on it so I can't tell you. I do know most Chinese that are still traveling, the danger has not hit home with them.

This is NOT normal folks.....this is unprecedented....did not happen for ebola, SARS, MERs, etc....

It has to be a weaponized coronavirus accidentally released from the high security Biolab located in Wuhan.

As the study says, opinions about using corticosteroids are both , supporting and also against . I am thinking to switch corticosteroids to natural anti-inflammatorys curcumin, licorice, ginger , enzymes , CBD oil o avoid the side effects of corticosteroids yet still work lowering inflammation/cytokines.


One thing that all viruses can cause is sepsis, corona viruses can cause that also

The article I posted said they are monitoring 63 in 22 states. She may be one of those being monitored, but it's important to understand that coronaviruses can and do and have infected humans for a long time. This is what's called a novel strain, meaning simply that this is strain that has not previously done so.

All coronovirus infection are respiratory infections, so it's possible the woman in Michigan does have a coronavirus infection that is very, very bad, but it isn't *this* strain.

This is bad, but people are panicking like it's measles which it's not.

I can't keep up with these threads. There's at least 10 circulating on ATS right now. Normally, a pandemic topic only generates a couple of threads with only a few dozen replies, with a lot of debunking and posters calling it nonsense.

It feels pretty spooky how everyone here is taking it so seriously (and rightly so).

Same. I literally was blown away by the # of threads. There wasn’t this many about Epstein and there were quite a lot going on the day he didn’t kill himself.

There’s just no way to pick apart something coming out of China. The place has information on lock down. There’s so many inconsistencies....

MSM is silent though. All impeachment this morning. They usually never let a good crisis and opportunity to illicit negative emotions across the populous go to waste.

The way the Chinese are reacting and in conjunction with what Xia Ping has said - which is again far from normal, we are in a situation far more serious than currently reported. The level of response in China is mind blowing. They know some thin they aren’t saying, I’m almost certain. Hope it’s not as bad as I’m starting to fear.

It's a serious concern. You should be keeping a close eye on it.

I'd say be prepared to shelter in place as much as you can for several weeks if possible. Use good hygiene technique if you must go out and avoid being close to other people. All those things they tell you about seasonal flu? Those are solid advice here. Just understand that if someone coughs a few aisles away at the store, you aren't going to die although you may want to cut your trip short to avoid close contact with that person and things they've touched.
