Large number of males, remember China once child policy.

Not really. As of 2018, there are 713 million males and 682 million females.

"I am not one to take anything serious untill most humans are dead. "

Oh, okay then - I'll wait til it's just you and me left before I smack you round the head then you great big dummy.

I hope you read all the way to the end. The big sarcasm sentence is right at the end. ;D

or maybe I didn't get the humour again. Sorry I'm a bit special.

"If it was as bad as they say, wouldn't we be seeing skyrocketing numbers here, and elsewhere?"

Not if the actual outbreak in China began in October of 2019.

Eh??? If itstarted earlier, then that bolsters my argument, since it would have had much more time to spread, without any controls at all.

Unless, of course, it is a bio-weapon engineered to spread with an extremely long incubation period.

I'm not sure you would understand sarcasm if it smacked you round the head 😂

However your infection projections look very possible and seem to be tracking on target. I have wondered if they would at some point stall with updates if they arent able to process cases quickly enough. Making it look like its spreading slower than it really is.

The simple truth is there are too may humans, and if we keep on multiplying at the rate we are then we'll kill the Earth and everything on it.

Pure eco-radical nonsense, debunked a long time ago.

Not necessarily a bioweapon, but you did get the point about a long incubation period.
It could also tie in with a long viability of the virus on contaminated surfaces... right?

They are different viruses, Spanish flu had an incubation period of up to 7 days, nCoV is up to 14 days. They do impact the body in a similar fashion, suppressing host signaling, sometimes overloading the host immune response, they bind to different cell receptors.

Current mortality rates appear similar, the Spanish flu infected 1/3 of the world population, killing 50-100 million. It’s original strain came out of a similar environment in WW1. Strain brought to Europe by migrant workers from China, there had been an outbreak prior, it mutated in military based housing sick soldiers, civilians, workers, livestock and pretty much everything else. It started to spread from military bases in Kansas and Devons Massachusetts once those soldiers returned home.

The issue was that it had not existed in the wild before, it was a novel disease and now a century later it has become endemic and seasonal but we all have partial immunity to it. This new coronavirus could do the same thing.

The Spanish Flu was fascinating, I did a primary resource research project on it a few years ago, some of the newspaper and first hand accounts are very similar and I did epidemiological studies on another avian influenza strain that had a higher mortality rate with very poor airborne transmission.

While watching the WHO video....

WHY DID YOU SHOVE THE MIC INTO THE DESK? UGH. (I'm a sound guy and I hate it when people don't talk into the MIC!!)

Well, unless WHO is made of puppets (and they may be), sounds like we can compliment China on their actions.

We'rye still within the 2 week incubation in the rest of the world. I think this thing spreads, but it's not a fast spreader, more of a close contact spreader.

Not if it started in October.

As far as the people coming into the US from China, we are still within the two week period, for seeing secondary infections.

Indeed that's the issue, it's only confirmed cases - if numbers overwhelm the ability to test (or political motives require lower numbers) then the numbers will probaby flat line and be meaningless.

A better measure would probably be suspected/under test cases.

There won’t be a vaccine until summer, as it spreads which it looks like it will, we need to produce and stockpile supplies to help people through the inflammatory state so they do not go into septic shock.

It costs money for any service, I’m pretty sure in this case, most people would get vaccinated for free through public health programs covered by grants and emergency funding.

When the WHO are more concerned about political correctness and not upsetting people then they're no use any more.

Their super niceness won't be of any comfort to those who have died, are infected, or will become infected and/or die.

But President Xi is going home happy to his cup of cocoa.

Oh well, that's all that matters then.
