Jaja, I’m a molecular biologist or a retired one. Been tracking this one for a while. Last night a buddy and I decided that today we would buy 1000 -2000 dust masks so if this thing does hit houston we can give them to the poor young and the poor old folks. Because the prices will go through the roof.

Best way to buy in bulk in houston is at china town .

Masks are one thing and I'm sure they may offer up some modicum of protection and/or extend some form of peace of mind.

Consider all the same the number of times people manage to come into contact with surfaces, and then go on to touch there face, other surfaces, and even other people, probably best to have also invested in disposable latex gloves.

And then where does it stop?

Naked Gun large body condoms all round?

Or what if your box of masks is already contaminated?

Not taking the piss just pointing out it may be rather futile to prevent and this disease will run its course like any other.

I think we're still in the general interest phase.

We'll know it's hysteria when they cross the threshold past airport screenings.

I'm not worried that the Texans will be devestated. Maybe they need a big BBQ party down there to protect them from the doom and gloom porn being fed to us. Maybe those on immune suppressent meds should not go to the BBQs though, I doubt if beer or booze kills a virus.

Also, maybe it isn't a good idea to invite the guy with that coronovirus to be cooking the ribs and steaks.

I've figured this thing is in USA well before they even announced it.

Has anyone ever watched "Contagion" ? I have a feeling its going to be a lot like that - Just, ya'know, less death.

I'm sure it's already in Canada with all these dirty immigrants that they opened the flood gate to.

F#$king Trudeau.

I can't believe how many people are giving stars to this uneducated filth.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised by now. But. Come on people.

Sounds like I hit someone's nerves

I bet you call the thousands of Germany Citizens uneducated too, that are protesting the absurd amount of immigrants they are being flooded with and causing nothing but problems.

You cannot just send in hundreds of thousands of third world people who have no skills, no education, no real form of knowledge as to how society works as a whole and expect it to go well.

Pretty sure this same example collapsed a few civilizations back in history.. hmmm...

And we all know this is being used as a voting tactic. Because the liberals cannot win without ruining a Country.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I (for one) am going to start panicking.

tyvm

I am almost there now. Going to buy some worthless masks, rubber gloves and much hand sanitizer.
The asafedita and oregano oil that I ordered from amazon arrives by 9pm tomorrow.
If we all die, at least I will have clean hands and smell awful.

Had family that went through SEATAK about the same time but not international area. But if you went to the GB SF game last Sunday you may have been routed that way.

Someone told me that Victor's spread the disease, so I've shot all the "Victor's" in my neighborhood. They weren't happy.

Tough.

Apparently a waste of time according to a report I read today. Yes, you may get lucky and have the mask catch a stray piece of infected saliva from a cough or sneeze, but you still have eyes that are open to welcoming in the infection. And not only is is almost impossible to keep one of these things on for super long periods of time, but good luck keeping your hands away from your mouth.

Just wash your hands regularly and try to stay safe.

It may be. But I have a hunch that virus rna piggybacking on dust into the mouth is the main point of air spreading.

The incubation on this virus is scary people. In ten days I think you start to see worldwide panic.

Well, I hope you're wrong. No offence.

Don't know about worldwide panic unless people start dropping like flies.

I predict a big run on the likes of Lemsip and Lucozade all the same.

More like 50-100 million, unfortunately.

Normal incubation period for influenza is 2 to 7 days.

if this new strain is as deadly it would give one to be concerened instead of poo pooing the possible deadliness of this strain.

All strains of the flu are deadly if your immune system is weak, that's just a fact or at least the complications that can come about are.

As to poo-pooing anything, well that will be the diarrhea i imagine.

Another thing that can be deadly.

I would not be so ready to start with the "Bring out your dead" chants, put it that way.

It's not the "T" virus ffs.

Just heard mcConnell advise senators that they have a special meeting tomorrow at 10:30am tomorrow regarding this virus. Guess we will find out eventually whether they will be doomsaying or alleviating worries about this virus in the US.
