If the U.S. Senate Acquits President Trump He is No Longer Impeached.

Impeachment is a state of being, like indictment. History will ALWAYS show that Trump was Impeached by the house, but unlike Clinton (where there WERE crimes) his historical impeachment will be remembered as the first time in American history a single branch of government attempted to over throw the constitutional rule of the other two branches in order to pursue absolute control of the nation. The senate will acquit Trump not because he is innocent (which is irrelevant as no crimes were included in the articles), but because the precedent of being able to remove a duly elected president by any means necessary and without crime is essentially destroying the rule of law, due process and the constitution itself. I would bet even Democratic senators will vote to acquit as well simply for this reason, history can be very unkind.

That being said we may be witnessing the end of the two party system as we know it. If I can identify as 20+ different genders, then we should have 20+ different parties in politics. I will start off with the creation of a new party, the NO BULL JUST BEEF party, and our marker/insignia will be a Big Mac Sandwich.

what i see here with the wording being used by democrats is an attempt to distort peoples understanding of the Constitution and set a precedent reversing the whole innocent until proven guilty concept our justice system is supposed to be about, where an accusation is enough to almost guarantee conviction regardless of evidence in almost every future trial American citizens have to go through. where accusation automatically means guilt in a court of law.

read section 4 of article 2 of the Constitution, it states this:
The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

See, here's the thing about Trump. He'll be able to turn it into a badge of honor against the establishment. Which in this case is the Dems. The Dems want to run against an impeached incumbent? That might work, were it not for the the fact that Trump can run on his accomplishments and the economy etc, whereas the Demscan only run on impeachment.

Thing is, it is crystal clear to me, and likely a lot of people, that Trump is beholding to Putin in 'some' way, lock, stock and barrel, the consistency continues from last year with the debacle over Ukraine being debated now over Trump's corruptive abuse of power in trying to force the new Ukraine President to commit to a false premise, not just because Trump wanted puff himself up, but also because he had to...something you should be thankful that the Ukraine President didn't take the bite, even if he didn't get that much wanted meeting in the White House, mind you, Russia's Lavrov did get an invite before Christmas 2019, where Trump was supposed to warn Lavrov "not to interfere" in the US elections.
However the press were not...once again, not privvy to what was actually discussed behind closed doors.
So, Trump has a thing about only talking to the Russians in private, except when he publicly asks them to search out e-mails of course.... FFS! start taking notes.

Since Dershowitz seems to be the only one—or few—legal scholars to believe the fantasy that acquittal somehow nullifies an impeachment (which it doesn't), he has lost his credibility.

Precedent affirms that acquittal does not erase impeachment, see Johnson and Clinton.

So if you're charged with a crime and the acquitted in a court of law, are you guilty of the crime you were charged with? Honest question.

A quick search shows that acquitted indictments can be expunged and removed from the official records.

Sep 20, 2015 · As Davidson County District Attorney Glenn Funk observed, “Consequences for criminal activity should be reserved for those who are guilty.” However, unless those arrested fill out the proper forms and petition the court to expunge their record, it remains. Forever.

If this is true,

It's not.

It really does't matter either way. You can always say, "Bill Clinton was impeached", "Donald Trump was impeached."

And so, people will, as if it matters. Impeachment in this era, is more of a political weapon than an actual protection of our Republic, and will likely continue to be.
