Impeachment is a state of being, like indictment. History will ALWAYS show that Trump was Impeached by the house, but unlike Clinton (where there WERE crimes) his historical impeachment will be remembered as the first time in American history a single branch of government attempted to over throw the constitutional rule of the other two branches in order to pursue absolute control of the nation. The senate will acquit Trump not because he is innocent (which is irrelevant as no crimes were included in the articles), but because the precedent of being able to remove a duly elected president by any means necessary and without crime is essentially destroying the rule of law, due process and the constitution itself. I would bet even Democratic senators will vote to acquit as well simply for this reason, history can be very unkind.

That being said we may be witnessing the end of the two party system as we know it. If I can identify as 20+ different genders, then we should have 20+ different parties in politics. I will start off with the creation of a new party, the NO BULL JUST BEEF party, and our marker/insignia will be a Big Mac Sandwich.

This is AMAZING!
YOU are ALSO a Legal Scholar EQUAL in constitutional and criminal legal knowledge, understanding and experience to Alan Dershowitz?

If you don't mind my asking...are you ALSO a Professor of Law at Harvard Law School?

Man...What are the odds?

The man is a hypocrite judging by his remarks during the bill clintin trial. Not only that, he represented Epstein and was accused of terrible things.

No doubt he is very intelligent in his field, but he obviously has no morals and is willing to minipulate his opinion of law to support agendas.

Yes, Dershowitz, like Bill and Hillary, has no morals. He helped known murderer OJ get away with murder and he would do the same if paid to help known murderers Bill and Hillary get away with it too.

So to summarize the last 8 pages - if Trump remains President after 2020 then *Impeachment* will not matter.

Law Scholar Alan Dershowitz says if President Trump is Acquitted by the Senate, he will no longer have "Impeached" status.

“Nancy Pelosi doesn’t understand what impeachment is,” renowned Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz said Tuesday, debunking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) proclamation that, even if acquitted, President Donald Trump will be “impeached forever.”

An “impeachment” is simply a grand jury presentation and – just as being found innocent by a jury removes an indictment – a Senate acquittal makes an impeachment "disappear," Dershowitz explained in a Fox News Channel interview with host Sean Hannity:

If this is true, House Democrats and Liberal Media Pundits will go berzerk!

Until the next one and the one after that....

I'm surprised Trump has been able to get any work done at all, with all the Impeachment attempts (and other crazy Liberal crap), constantly bogging him down. I'm pretty sure this will continue on through his second Term (and beyond for Candace Owens or whom ever else on the Conservative side, decides to run in 2024, 2028, etc...,)

Impeachment didn't matter after Bill spoke at the DNC in 2016, and we were suppose to put him back in the White House.

Even in a different role.

Poor Donald Trumplethinskin

You must have lain awake at night for days thinking that one up!

is so distraught at the thought of an impeachment stain forever on his "perfect" presidency, his toadies will tell him anything to calm him down.

Actually, he will do what he should do - wear it as a badge of honr, while he continues to lay waste to the radical demwit socialist agenda for the next 5 years with control of both houses of Congress, adding to the 190+ federal judges and 2 Supreme Court Justices he's appointed, implementing the Middle Class Tax Cut (that he's been talking about since before he was elected though many don't know this), etc etc...

Good he thinks this, maybe he won't murder a bunch of brown people and start war in a temper tantrum.

Since he's the least warmongering Prez we've had in a long time, yeah, little chance of that, although he won't let those same brown people run roughshod over us any more either...

what i see here with the wording being used by democrats is an attempt to distort peoples understanding of the Constitution and set a precedent reversing the whole innocent until proven guilty concept our justice system is supposed to be about, where an accusation is enough to almost guarantee conviction regardless of evidence in almost every future trial American citizens have to go through. where accusation automatically means guilt in a court of law.

read section 4 of article 2 of the Constitution, it states this:
The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

See, here's the thing about Trump. He'll be able to turn it into a badge of honor against the establishment. Which in this case is the Dems. The Dems want to run against an impeached incumbent? That might work, were it not for the the fact that Trump can run on his accomplishments and the economy etc, whereas the Demscan only run on impeachment.

See the issue here yet?

Trump stands a good chance of becoming the first President to be impeached, found innocent, and re-elected President in less than a one year time span 😎 😃 🥳

Are you saying you should be surprised by that should it happen? are you casting insult onto the rest of the populace
or something more fundamental like the constitution.

Ya got a strange way of interpreting things don't ya 🐽 🤓

Why should you care, you only deal in propaganda.
Thing is, it is crystal clear to me, and likely a lot of people, that Trump is beholding to Putin in 'some' way, lock, stock and barrel, the consistency continues from last year with the debacle over Ukraine being debated now over Trump's corruptive abuse of power in trying to force the new Ukraine President to commit to a false premise, not just because Trump wanted puff himself up, but also because he had to...something you should be thankful that the Ukraine President didn't take the bite, even if he didn't get that much wanted meeting in the White House, mind you, Russia's Lavrov did get an invite before Christmas 2019, where Trump was supposed to warn Lavrov "not to interfere" in the US elections.
However the press were not...once again, not privvy to what was actually discussed behind closed doors.
So, Trump has a thing about only talking to the Russians in private, except when he publicly asks them to search out e-mails of course....
FFS! start taking notes.

So Al-Baghdadi was an “austere religious scholar”
Soleimani was a “respected general and humanitarian trying to broker peace”

Both of whom were apparently “murdered” by the unstoppable Bad Orange Man.

But Vladimir Putin is “evil and bad”

No wonder ‘the left’ is the number one FASTEST shrinking minority in the entire world today.

NOBODY wants to be associated with it.

President Trump will be acquitted, rightfully so, and will serve two full terms, thankfully.

New revelations point to President Obama giving Joe Biden the authority say that $1 Billion in Ukrainian aid would be withheld, if the Prosecutor investigating Burisma was not immediately fired.

Depending on what Joe Biden says at President Trump's impeachment trial, former President Barack Obama could be called to the witness stand. Former Congressman Trey Gowdy explains. (dated 1.23.2020)

You're a law scholar on par with Alan Dershowitz?
AWESOME to have you here!

Since Dershowitz seems to be the only one—or few—legal scholars to believe the fantasy that acquittal somehow nullifies an impeachment (which it doesn't), he has lost his credibility.

Precedent affirms that acquittal does not erase impeachment, see Johnson and Clinton.

So if you're charged with a crime and the acquitted in a court of law, are you guilty of the crime you were charged with? Honest question.

A quick search shows that acquitted indictments can be expunged and removed from the official records.

Sep 20, 2015 · As Davidson County District Attorney Glenn Funk observed, “Consequences for criminal activity should be reserved for those who are guilty.” However, unless those arrested fill out the proper forms and petition the court to expunge their record, it remains. Forever.

USA Today Source

So the question is whether there is a form or process in place that Trump is aware of and that Johnson and Clinton did not follow through on?

It really does't matter either way. You can always say, "Bill Clinton was impeached", "Donald Trump was impeached."

And so, people will, as if it matters. Impeachment in this era, is more of a political weapon than an actual protection of our Republic, and will likely continue to be.
