If Israel runs the US and the state department is all Israeli then why did the Obama Administration send palate after pallet of cash to the Iranian regime to jumpstart their nuke program

I don't know if it's correct to say "we" get most of it back

But the politicians do get a piece thanks to the Israeli lobby, which helps to explain their continued support

We do and as a benefit we get access to Israeli intelligence. Like it or not they are the best on the planet as far as middle east intel. They have operatives in every country in the middle east.

They send a lot more to countries that chant death to America so I'd say it's a good investment for once

Which ones?

To be honest, i'm all for Foreign Aid initiatives (which i know is not a popular opinion on ATS!). Foreign Aid was, after all, set up to help with things like providing safe water sources, irrigation, improving agriculture, education, etc.

The issue is that lots of Foreign Aid seems to get syphoned off into all sorts of nefarious activities - from military through to plain old corruption (building shiny new homes for Presidents, etc).

Basically, we need proper checks into how Foreign Aid is spent and we need to re coup any illegally used (which would put others off trying to misuse it).

Israel is a wealthy nation though. Why does the US need to subsidise them with a further $3 billion per year?

The aid is used to buy US military armaments etc. So it really is just a case of the American taxpayer funding the MIC and disguising it as aid.

In the usa I can boycott anything I choose and the government cant do a damn thing about it. This info is hoax.

There should be no foreign aid. If the government has money to give foreign nations, they are taxing their citizens too much.

Supporting Israel doesn't bother me. That's the one nation I appreciate having as an ally.

Where in our Constitution does it say the US has to be the World's police force?????? My home state of New Jersey would love to have 3 billion dollars to rebuild our dilapidated infrastructure! At some point we have to end the endless war and all this unnecessary American adventurism and concentrate on putting America first. America is only as strong has the financial position of the American worker making the median wage!

I'm not really sure Israel is our friend. I don't think the Israel's see US interests as an equal priority to their own selfish self-interests:

Never forget the US Liberty Incident!

Too right. Everyone in Israel loves the USA. Seriously they really do. USA is seen as a true friend. Now if you expect that from a Turk, French, Dutch, Egyptian....................... Think again.

If you took Iraq and Afghanistan out of the equation... The rest pale in comparison to Israel.

Granted, I'm in agreement with you. But Israel is a developed country. So why are we sending them billions?

I say we stop aid to all countries, at the very least till we get our house in order.

In the end, I think you're point is valid. We definitely shouldn't be giving to countries who don't like us. But that doesn't mean we can't criticize this spending.

It is way cheaper for us to help fund their military programs than to send troops over there to protect them. We do not want to get personally involved in that conflict. It is a mess. I do not agree with some of the stuff the Israeli government does, but do understand that the Muslims would completely obliterate their people if they could not protect themselves.

I know some Jewish people, they are decent people. I know some Muslims here who wanted to leave all the chaos in their countries too and moved to America. The ones I know are not a threat to society, but one of the ones I know said there are some here that we should not trust. I know him because he works at a business I shop at, he is a good person and his family left the country he came from because it sucked there. That is when they were vetting immigrants from that region extensively, and even then some bad ones got in, Many on school visas and by having relatives here already back years ago. His family has been in the country for thirty years I guess.
