No, I never followed up on the stats.
I was never a Pitbull or terrier type of dog person to begin with.
Every single person i knew that had a pit, was a loser, gangster wanna be, that only got the dog because they thought it made them look cool.

Now, I know not everyone that likes pitbulls fits the above bill.
But just from my experience with pitbull owners, it seems as if that was the case.

I also got bit by a dog when I was a child.
When I was 6 years old, there was a large St Bernard named King, that would get loose and run the neighborhood.
He put my face in his mouth.

I am so sorry to hear you went through that as a kid! It was scary enough just having a dog threaten to take off my face from the nose down, let alone the entire face. One dog did take a kitten's head into her mouth very briefly, and that kitten was really shook up. I can only imagine it's just as bad for a human youngster.
